Our room is unlike any other chatroom in MSN: we actually intend to provide a positive experience for chatters. Most of our rules are enforced with a swift kick by our Security bot Plato. First it is to be known that performing your brown host duties are completely optional... in other words you aren't required to do squat. Just enjoy the trivia.

But there are those who crave gold, something not easily earned in our chatroom, of our 250 brown hosts only 12 have earned gold thus far. So for those looking to become something more, performing the following duties might just get you closer. The main duty is to back up the automated features of the Security bot, see Plato is very smart but he has no brain, which is where you come in, in enforcing the rules when he is out smarted.

Join Flooding

Join Flooding is anytime you leave an enter the room unnecessarily. Many seem to be doing to "refresh" but while you’re refreshing your causing alot of lag to Plato by making him rehost you. Poor Plato has enough to do already without attending to so many of your needs, If you need to refresh, type /clear into the main chat, or right click the chat screen, an select clear. (Note: Host who continue to Join flood will have to have their hammer revoked till they can stop )

The Auto Age Screener

Some of you may have noticed plato welcoming back newbies. He is now registering all newbies ages so if when someone new enters plato says welcome back you only need to check their asl if they are suspicious, the auto age checker isn’t fool proof, but it usually gets everyone’s age right

Something I’d like help with is if anyone is Auto ban listed by mistake, If they type a bad age like 133 or sometimes a long sentence can contain enough misspelled words to trigger the auto perve kicker, if this accidentally kicks some they are added to the banned for life list :( please make sure an write down their name an let Thal know so they can be removed form Plato's ban list. (There will soon be a >report feature to make this easier)

No Swearing of anykind.

This one is simple, if they swear, you kick. Profanity in Chatroom. No Crude language of anykind, this means any perverted guesses at the trivia, anything sexually explicit, anything inappropriate for the young users we often have in the chat. Personal info

keep it to yourself , primarily i mean talking about your private personal habits, we dont need to know if your hoping in the shower or goin to the bathroom, or getting a took pick or goin to shave or anything else you wouldn’t do in public. Remember the room chat is about the trivia, and filled with your assorted funny public chat, please keep private chat private. This includes excessive lovey-dovey chat, please keep it in private

We have a new format for kick messages:

1: please never use any language not allowed in the room in your kick

2: please don't use any language that creates panic. there's no need to assume they're a pervert or do more damage by calling them gross names. The most important thing is as always, that you remove them from the room as quickly and as politely as possible

3: Simply kick them out stating your reason in the kick, or there age in the kick, often if i am here and i see someone has kicked someone who is way to old, i can then copy their gatekey an banlist them, so its a big help if you always display the reason you are kicking them in the kick message.

No Rudeness.

We come here to play Trivia and have fun. If they’re too rude, you kick.

Disruptive Behaviour

Please leave your bad moods at home. Our room is a fun place, free of criticisms and worries, don't bring our allow others to bring their bad world into our room. Our room is "reality free" where people are allowed to begin inventing, their own reality

No Scrolling.

And this one is important, anyone who is flooding the chat with emoticons or pointless words or anything other than general intelligent chat an trivia, is scrolling and runs the risk of catching my internet connection at a bad moment, and then its bye bye bots until I happen to notice they are gone, so if they are scrolling, repeating themselves, you kick.

Don't abuse your power:

And i want to make this very clear, we have specific reasons to kick people, and no where in the rules is petty revenge, bad moods, or meanness justified. Do not kick anyone ever unless you have a justified reason for doing it.

"A/S/L Please?"

The most important thing we do is ask "name asl please?", its almost as if we are chasing them out of our room if they dont answer within the one minute they have before you kick them

The most common thing to remember is to always be politely, make sure that everyone who enters gives their asl in the chatroom, Plato will process them from there, you perform your part by asking them ie. "Crazyguy a/s/l please?" you ask twice with a 20 second pause in between, "Crazyguy a/s/l please?", then after 20 more seconds kick with the message "a/s/l please?" if they don't answer. When they return you repeat "Crazyguy a/s/l please?", (20 second pause) "Crazyguy a/s/l please?"(20 second pause) then kick with a 15 min ban, and the message "a/s/l please?".

All guys or unknowns are to be asked immediately upon entry, most of the time they say hi and then Plato does what he can to get their asl, an you, but often he needs you to assist, once they give their asl Plato will thank them an say have fun or kick them for being to old, occasionally he kicks someone for putting a phony age like 345/f/mn, when he kicks them for their age they have just become banned for ever by mistake so if you see him ban someone for this please write down there name later so i can remove it from his ban list

15seconds:

It takes 15 seconds to kick someone with a quality message, as you should always use. It also takes roughly 15 seconds to write a oneline answer that that person who is asking the oh so annoying question. And thus not only solving the question an perhaps helping us gain a new member, but also not disrupting the trivia with yet another fool being kicked for not understand what a cool room we have.

Advertisers:

If an advertiser advertises in our room its best to not go advertise in there room cause all your likely to attract from their room is a whole new clientel of perverts. We dont advertise our room because small is nice and safe

Also i am trying to crack down on bots that hop into the room an advertise in whispers then leave, so if anyone advertises in whispers please let me know there name if i am in the room

Dont ask Thal to be gold:

Running this room is a full time job. Thal is almost always busy, thus it is important that you divert some of the workload, by answering any of the meaningless trivial questions you see others ask, as well as keeping the peace, but most importantly not asking to be gold.... One time in your future a time will come for you to be chosen to be gold. It can not be forecast or predicted, it just happens once you have proved your worth.
