On July 16, 1806, Hezekiah bought 50 acres of land on Beaverdam Creek, Buncombe, NC. On January 25, 1810, he bought another 50 acres of land there. Then in October, 1810, he sold all this land and moved to Holmes Creek, Smith, TN. The cemetery where he and Martha were buried was covered by water when a new lake was built in DeKalb County Tennessee in the early 1930's.
