 | Every day, the ship stopped so that we could visit a variety of places along the route. Almost every trip involved a visit to a church. Although they are Christian churches, they are Russian Orthodox and quite different from the kind we are accustomed to. One attraction from the photographer's point of view is that they all look fantastic on the outside. Russian guidebooks are chock-a-block with pictures of churches. I have tried my best not to fall into this trap but I fear I may not have succeeded. |
