 | The Karnak temple at Thebes is only about a mile further north on the outskirts of Luxor (if you are staying at the Hilton, it is almost on your doorstep). This is the temple which featured in the film "Death on the Nile" where someone met an untimely end under a slab which fell from the top of these pillars in the great hall. This place is the most magnificent of all Egypt's temples and a "Sound and Light" show takes place here every evening (there are similar events at the pyramids and the Philae temple at Aswan). A visit to Luxor would be in order, just to visit this temple alone. |
