As The Miller Told His Tale

Upon the eyes of my understanding, light fell

Not to pierce the darkness

Nor to lift the veil

It shone 'round images fixed in darkest mind

And stamped it's imprint

'Gainst the vastness of space and time

In the eerie light he flickered

And I could dimly see

The magnate of my soul guide

To the vast unknowing me

The Prophet spoke in music

And spoke to those who hear

My eyes had seen the seeing

Now words became quite clear

As he wove his magic journey

I was caught up in the tale

Prepared now for the pathway

And heights that we would scale

I rode upon his carpet

And the way was strangely made

Through the caverns of my past life

To my future plainly laid

He spoke of going higher

To a place where we belong

He spoke of leaving safety

In search of heav'n and home

In the stilness of awakening

As the Miller wove his tale

My face at first just ghostly

Turned a whiter shade of pale

I saw, I cringed

I wept, I felt

I prayed and I beseeched

Some remnant of myself

Existing long 'fore I

Yet with me, just a ghost

And suddenly, miraculously

Surrounded by a host

A choir of pure white beings

A sound too great to hold

Spellbound, I was transported

To a land where dreams unfold

The world grew strangely dimmer

As the spirits now grew close

All sight and sound was heaving

Breathing pure of holy ghost

The universe expanded

The truth began to dance

And all that ever happened

Had happened not by chance

It all became so plain now

It all became so clear

I dared not ask for more love

Than in this holy sphere

The universe expanded

Viewed from some distant place

Stood me on it's mountain

I looked within it's face

This visit, briefly granted

Indelibly had marked

Obliterating my mind-scape

Impressing spirit's heart

The pages of the Prophet

No human eye can see

Imprinted by the shadows

That will not let us be

And so it was, that later,

As the Miller told his tale

My face at first just ghostly

Turned a whiter shade of pale

The words on heaven's doorstep

The words on heaven's gate

How can they e're be published

Yet, unfold for those who wait

And so it was, that later....
