"Okay, that's it," Nick said as he almost nodded off to sleep. "I need coffee."
"I'll come too," said Megan. "You guys want any?"
"No thanks," they answered.
Liz sat on Brian's lap for a few more minutes, still crying.
"Now boarding: flight 1410 to New York, JFK airport."
Liz popped up at the unexpected announcement. She started sobbing in Brian's arms. "I don't want to have to say good-bye to you, Bri."
Brian held her tight as tears rolled down his cheeks. "I don't know how to say bye to you, hun."
Liz looked up at Brian. Again, she saw the adoring look in his eyes, and finally, she understood. Brian leaned his head down and for the first time, their lips met. Liz didn't know what to feel. "Brian, I can't do this," she pushed him away. Liz picked up her bags and ran to the gate.
"Liz, please. Wait!" He ran after her through the crowd. Liz handed her ticket. She turned around and gave Brian a small wave. She turned around and as she walked off he lost her in the crowd.
"Buh-bye, Brian. See you soon right?" Megan asked hurriedly.
"Uh, maybe," he whimpered.
"NO?! Did you...?" she shouted.
Brian nodded.
"Awww, sweetie."
"Last call for flight 1410 to New York, JFK airport," announced the loud speaker.
"Um, bye, Bri. Bye, Nick." She turned and gave him a kiss. "I'll call ya both when we get home. I love you guys." Megan handed her ticket to the flight attendant and entered the plane.
"You ready, man?" Nick asked, patting him on the back.
"Um, get the car and I'll meet you by the door."
"Sure."
Brian sat down facing the window. He watched as the plane pulled away from the gate. A single tear rolled down his face as his heart broke. Brian stood to walk out as the plane turned out of view. He glanced at the gate as a woman, eye's red from crying, walked out. Brian froze. She slowly walked towards him and dropped her bags at his feet.
"Bri..." she paused and looked into his eyes. "I love you." She put her arms around his neck and pulled him close. She kissed him passionately. "I love you."
