Chapter 29

The day of the party arrived. The sun was shining and there was barely a cloud in the sky. Liz and Megan were running around the house like chickens with their heads cut off while Brian and Nick on the other hand, were playing a new video game.

"Nick, get off your lazy butt and help me!!!" Megan said, carrying a large box of soda cans.

"Oh, well if you put it that way! Where's Liz, I'll ask her what I should do," Nick said.

"AAARRRRRRRGGGGGG," Megan screamed at him.

"Oh, did you want me to help you?" he asked innocently.

Megan shoved the box in his face. She gave him an ice cold glance. "Take these outside, and put them in a cooler with ice." With that she turned around and walked away.

Nick put the box down and quickly ran after her. "Meg, Meg!" he said. "Megan!" he said getting her stubborn attention. Catching up to her he pulled her close, wrapping his arms around her waist and gently kissing her. "I'm sorry, hun. I was just kidding," he whispered in her ear.

Two hours later the guests started to arrive. Everybody was hanging around the pool when Liz finally finished all she had to do. "Why isn't anybody in the pool?" she shouted, swaying to the music.

"Let's have a party, let's have a party, so everybody, let's have a party."

"Nick, your voice was so high then!" Liz noted.

Megan ran behind Nick and pushed him into the pool.

"Aaaaahhhh!!!" he shreiked.

"Wow, I guess nothing has really changed," Liz joked at the high pitch sound he made as he plunged into the pool.

Nick lifted himself out of the pool. Instead of getting a towel he ran up behind Megan and gave her a huge, wet hug. He then lifted her up and jumped into the pool with her in his arms. Everybody laughed histerically as Megan's head bobbed up and down in the water, her hair hanging every which way on her face. Liz turned away from the pool, knowing that when Nick starts being a fool, Brian catches on too. She was too late, and as she turned around she was face to face with Brian. He had a grin on his face that reached past his ears. Brian took the glass out of her hand and picked her up. As Nick had done, he jumped into the pool.

"Eeeekkk!" she yelled as she hit the cold water. Everybody else soon was swimming in the pool with them.
