the next day...

Although Liz was feeling fine, she had to stay in the hospital for one more night to finish up some tests. There was almost never a moment when she didn't have a visitor. Josh had even stopped by and brought her flowers. Liz was very happy that he came.

As he walked out of the room, Liz looked over at Brian. "Brian, he's not a demon, don't give him that evil look!" she joked.

Brian blushed. "Hey, ya never know!" he returned. Brian didn't like Josh. He was sooo jealous and he knew it. [I wish Liz would look at me that way, and flirt with me that way!]

This was the first time that Brian and Liz had been alone together since Liz had woken up the day before. Nick and Megan were there a lot, not to mention Laney, Riley, Darren, Zach, AJ, and everybody else. Kevin was in town now, so he dropped by a few times.

"So, Lizzy, how about a b-ball game tomorrow?" Brian asked.

"Um, no! Darren and I refuse to play with your and Zach's lack of talent!" she teased.

"Ok, well fine then! Be that way!" he said giving her 'the hand'. "What are we going to do this week? I mean, I only have three more weeks left, then a week with mom and dad, then the guys and I have to go up to New York to do a whole bunch stuff."

"You guys recording anything new?"

"Maybe, maybe not."

Just them Nick and Megan busted through the door. Nick had a distressed look on his face. He threw a newspaper on the bed. On the cover, a picture of Brian and Leighanne, that appeared to be torn in half, something that the paper did to the picture for affect.

" 'Attention Girls, he's SINGLE again!'" Brian read the headline. " The truth by Katherine Rafferterty." He dropped the paper on the bed. Nobody spoke for a while. The awkward silence seemed to last forever. Finally Liz broke the ice, "So, um, Bri, what notes exactly did they have to compare?" Nick cracked up laughing, but then covered it up when Megan gave him an ice cold glance. He knew that something had happened between Brian and Kate when he took Megan for a walk, and that was exactly what Megan didn't want to happen. Nick hadn't gotten the chance to ask Brian about it yet though. Brian had barley left Liz's side since she had woken up.

"That's just crap!" Megan said. "Nick isn't as inexperienced as she says!"

"Yeah!" Nick said.

"Excuse me?" Liz shouted wondering what had gone on between the two considering the amount of time they had been a couple.

Megan laughed. "I didn't mean it in that way Liz!"

"You better not have meant it in that way Brian, are you okay?" she said turning to Brian. He just sat there staring into space. "Com'ere Brian," Liz said reaching over to him. She gave him a long hug holding him close. "Brian, nothing she said was true, don't believe a word she said. It's all crap, you know your better than what she said!" she whispered in his ear.

"Yeah, whatever," he said solemnly.

"Arg, how are we gonna cheer this guy up?" she asked Nick.

"Let's have a party!" Nick sang and danced to the tune of the their song, 'Let's Have a Party'.

"Hey, that's not a bad idea!" Liz said.

"We could have a huge party with tons of people we don't know! And they could all trash your house, it'll be great!" Megan said sarcastically.

"Not in my house! We can have a nice pool party!" Liz commented.

"Even better!" Nick said jumping onto a chair while dancing to the music playing into his head.

"Oh sit down you fool!" Megan said pulling Nick to the floor. "Who will we invite?" Megan asked.

"We'll have all the people at the beach, since we didn't exactly didn't get to finish the evening. We can invite Kevin, and a few other people," Liz answered.

"A few other people as in, um I don't know, Josh?" Megan asked grinning.

"Maybe!" Liz said equally returning the grin. Brian felt a pain in his heart, a love pain.

"Just make sure that you wear that bikini again, I know Brian liked the way you looked in it!" Nick joked. Brian turned bright red as everybody laughed. Nick caught a glimpse of Brian and realized what was going on, his 'friend's intuition' turning on.

"Um, uhh Brian, can you show me where the bathroom is?" Nick asked.

Brian stood up, and Nick followed him into the hallway.
