"I don't know what he does to make you cry, but I'll be there to make you smile," sang Nick. As he continued to sing a brown haired girl about his age threw a stuffed animal to him. Although it came quick, he caught it with his spare hand with the other on the mic. It was a bear holding a rose. With it was a little note that said:
"Thanks for all you have done for me,
Christine"
Nick smiled and winked at Christine leaving the people around her thinking he was looking at them. But she knew he was looking at her...and only her. "...I'd walk a thousand miles. Oh yeah..."
"I don't care if he buys you nice things. Does his gifts come from the heart?" Just as Brian sang that he too got a gift. A blonde fan, about his age, threw him a Beanie Baby. It was the Chihuahua, Tiny. It reminded him of his Chihuahua, Lil' Tyke. Although he had almost 20 of the same Beanie, he enjoyed getting one every concert.
As Howie started singing his verse a fan threw him a whole bouquet of flowers to him. It came from pretty far away for such a large bouquet. Hey, they may be girls but can they throw! Howie, startled by the unexpected landing of the roses, lost track of his dance steps. If it were a faster song with faster dance steps, he'd surely be lost! Being it a slower, mellow song, he soon caught up.
Now it was A. J.'s turn to sing. Out of nowhere came a pair of funky sunglasses with a tag on them that said: "Wear them for the next song!" Why wait 'til then? He threw his pair he was wearing off into the crowd and put his new pair on. About five girls fought for the sunglasses and another twenty went to get where the five were. One girl finally got the pair of sunglasses leaving the others obviously...well...extremely pissed. And just for my sunglasses, thought A. J. Wow.
As the group was singing the chorus everyone started singing along. When the song ended they ran backstage and got water. Stardom can be exhausting, you know.
"Oh my God! Hi!" The boys turned around to see a fan who had the biggest smile on her face. She was about 18 years old, blonde, blue eyes, a normal everyday girl. "I'm Casey. I love you guys so much!" They started walking towards her. "I'm Casey," she said louder so they could hear her over the sound from the arena.
"Hi, Casey," said Brian as he gave her a hug. "How'd ya get back here?"
"It's my birthday," she replied. "My parents got me a backstage pass."
"Well, we all have a gift for you," said A.J. They all kissed her on the cheek.
Casey blushed. "This is definitely my favorite birthday present!"
"It's our pleasure," said Kevin.
"Hey, Kevin. You missed this out on stage. It's for you," said Q, the boys' bodyguard. It was another little stuffed bear.
"Cool," said Kevin. All of a sudden in the background the crowd started chanting, "Backstreet Boys! Backstreet Boys!"
"This has got to be our biggest show ever!" said A. J.
"Let's go out and say good-bye," said Brian. "C'mon, Casey. You can come with us."
As they walked on stage the crowd screamed so loud you thought would've gone deaf. Girls were crying that the concert was ending. Others were just happy that they had come out.
"We'd like to say happy birthday to Casey," said Howie.
Casey waved, happy to show off that she was standing with the Backstreet Boys. Who wouldn't? The boys sang "Happy Birthday" to her. She started to cry but only two little tears came down her cheek. The rest of the time she just smiled as they sang to her. After they were done with the song the crowd went wild again. Nick finished the concert and said, "Thank you! We love you all! Goodnight!" They all ran off the stage with their fans' screams behind them.
What a night to remember.
For the fans.
For the boys.
For Casey.
