1938 Emerson Model 199 Plaskon Radio
Shown above is a nice looking Emerson model 199 plaskon cabinet radio. This was quite a nice looking radio for $9.95. This radio was offered in two colors white and brown. 1938 was a year that the economy slowed again. Emerson made two versions of this radio. The early type the cabinet was all Plaskon. The removable back was Plaskon on the early versioin. This was soon droped and was replaced by a cardboard back to cut cost. The all Plaskon version is harder to find.
Dewald Bantam Table Radio
Showing above is a Dewald Bantam table set. Dewald made several versions of this styled set. Some had handles on the top others did not. Some had the name Dewald on the dial face and some as decals on the cabinet. They all had the same shape, style,(waterfall grills),and the false feet on the bottom front.
Dewald Batam Radio Set
Here is a different colored Dewald Bantam. The color of this one is Rassberry! This is a differnt color for a radio in its day. Remember Radio Shack's Flavor radios in the early 1970s? Well Dewald had them beat by almost thirty years. Click here to go to page 15. Click here to go back to page 13 Of Daves ColorFull Radios. Click here to go back to my homepage.
