Mengo senior Mengo Senior School is a government aided school and is governed by the laws governing education in the country. It falls under the
Ministry of Education and Sports.
The Admistrative structure of the school is as follows;
A) Board of Governors The Board of Governors is the suerime govering body of the school and sets policies. It is chaired by the
Bishiop of Namirembe Diocese, The Right Reverand Samuel Balagadde Ssekadde.
B) The PTA Executive Committee The executive consists ciommittee consists of parents, teachers and school administrators. The PTA has undertakesn a
number of p[rojects in the school includinng the purchse of a new bus in 2002, the buying of computers for students and construction of classroooms.
C) The Headteacher
The Headteacher oversees the day-to-day management of the school. The current headteacher is Mrs. Sarah Kyazike Birungi who joined the school in the year 2001. Among the key projects she has undertaken is the
connection of the school to the internet using a VSAT
D ) The Deputies Mengo has four deputies who assist the Headteacher in the running of the school. These are -- Deputy for Academics
-- Deputy for Welfare (1) -- Deputy welfare (2) -- Deputy for Personnel
E) Deanship and Director Of studies The school has three Deans of students. The Dean -- Lower School
oversees the admistration of senior one and two,; Dean - Middle school is responsible for senior three and four; while Dean upper school is for senior five and six.
The Directo of studies oversees the academics of the school and heads the examination section. He is also the director of computer programs in the school.
F) Heads of Departments
These are in charge of subjects G) Class teachers The class teachers are the first point of contact for the students. They act as
parents at the school, overseeing discipline, providing mentoring and counselling, and are responsible for collecting school fees and making reports.
