12th March 2001

.  City have been handed the potential banana skin draw for the semi finals of the FA Trophy. The blues have drawn Ryman League side Canvey Island for the two legged tie with the first leg being played at Canvey on Saturday March 31st. The second leg will be played at the Deva Stadium on Saturday April 7th. This means that the Conference games scheduled for these dates against Scarborough and Leigh RMI will have to be re-arranged. There's a possibility that the away leg of the semi final may have to be all ticket with City expecting to take several hundred supporters to Canvey's small ground. Nothing has yet been confirmed though.

. Chester chairman Terry Smith wouldn't confirm or deny if the rumors that he's selling the club are true when he spoke to Chester Evening Leader reporters at Saturday's game. Rumors where rife at the weekend that Smith was about to sell the club to a group of Liverpool businessmen believed to have some connection with the Cream nightclub. Smith wouldn't comment on the matter though but from reading his notes in the programme for Saturday's game it seems that `Coco` could finally be riding out of town.
