chapter 17~ The Way Things Are

Days seemed to pass quickly while on tour with the guys. It wasn’t quite as hectic as I had worried, meaning it was bearable. For me, anyways. But the guys knew I was always there to help them out when they needed it.

----------------------------------------------------

“How’s my pretty girlfriend?” Zac asked cutely. I smiled at him. How could you not smile at such an adorable face.

I gave him a kiss. “I loooooooooooove you.” He whispered, crawling onto my lap where I sat reading a book. The book though, was now sitting on the floor where it had fallen forgotten now that Zac’s attention was on me.

“Don’t you have like, an interview or something?” I asked Zac. “Not going.” Zac smiled, pressing his lips once more to mine. I shrugged. I didn’t want him to leave anyways. He probably meant it was cancelled. Suddenly Zac pulled away. “What?” I asked. He smiled. Before I knew it we were entangled on the bed.

Here we are, safe at last We can breathe a sigh Seems the storm has passed All our friends, would ask us why With all that stood between us, why did we even try? No one I know imagined we would make it But it only matters that we both believe You and me we’re a miracle Meant to be and nothing can change it Mountains move and oceans part when they are standing in our way You and me we’re a miracle Angels stand watching over us And heaven shines upon us everyday --------------------------------------

“Zac?” It was Taylor. He had called ten times. Zac pulled himself away from me and sighed “I guess it must be important then..” He mused. I smiled at him and gave him a quick kiss before pushing him off of me and aiding him to the door. When we showed up at the door Taylor rolled his eyes. “Zac, this is serious. No offence, but I’m getting tired of your little attitude. Get with it, ok? We have an interview in ten minutes and you should have been downstairs by now. Put something decent on and let’s go!” Hmmm… I take it he’s mad. Zac took Taylor’s mood lightheatedly though. In two minutes flat he had changed and was out the door. I was already ready so I followed him out. We walked downstairs, and even with all the playfulness and ear biting we made it down in great time. But when we got downstairs the mood was not as great as our own. Zac dropped my hand upon seeing a large man in a suit standing with Zac’s family and his brothers. Apparently he could tell even better than I could that something was up. “Zac, we need to have a talk.” The man said, in a deep voice. It was hard to tell what kind of ‘talk’ he needed to have with Zac from the tone of his voice, as his voice didn’t really carry a tone. But judging by the faces of everyone else in the room, it was not to be a good talk. Zac wasn’t about to let this guy ruin his carefree mood though. He simply shrugged and stated, “Ok, then lets talk.”

“Not now.” The man affirmed. “You guys go do Bop magazine, that needs to be done. But the girlfriend stays here. Now go and do your job.” “Hey, I’m all for doing my job, but Adrian is coming too, ok?” “Yeah, I don’t really see a problem with her coming man, I mean, she’s there to support us.” Taylor cut in. I smiled at him, sending him thanks for sticking up for me vibes. “I’m sorry boys, there are some issues that must be discussed, and until further notice, she stays here.” The man said. Zac was about to come back with a retort, when his father shushed him. The boys were told this was for their own good, and there wasn’t any other way to go about it. “Will you be alright here alone, Adz?” Zac asked. I said yes, in spite of myself. I wanted to scream at this mean man, tell him whatever he had to say could be said now and then just let us go together you big meany. But I just smiled politely and turned on my heals, heading back to the elevator. “We’ll see you in a bit, sweety” Diana called from across the lobby. I didn’t even bother turning. I just entered the elevator and let it carry me up. Before I even knew it my eyes were wet with tears. I didn’t even know why I was crying. All I knew was that something was going on, and it wasn’t going to turn out good.
