Johnny Horton was one of Country Music's top artists when his life was cut short in a car wreck near Milano, Texas in the early morning hours of Saturday, Nov. 5, 1960. His hits had been flowing: The Battle of New Orleans, Sink the Bismark, North to Alaska, Springtime in Alaska, Johnny Reb and others.
