Chances are that no matter how hard he practices the piano or she works on the violin, your young child, relative or neighbor won't become a concert musician. But they are likely to carry the positive impact of that experience — the discipline, the confidence and joy of self-_expression — throughout their adult life.
Music teachers make it possible. Despite budget cuts and program closures, dedicated music instructors are still touching lives and instilling life-long lessons. It's time to celebrate these heroes with the KDFC Music Educator of the Year Award.
Is a music teacher doing exemplary work your community? Share the story. Send your nomination — a simple 200 word essay — to KDFC. Let's celebrate the local heroes!
