Black composers honored on KPAC & KTXI Topic: MEDIA Ask the average person to name a black classical composer and the
first answer is usually Scott Joplin. But the world of black
composers is as rich and varied as the music itself. From the
classical works of the Chevalier de Saint-Georges, to creole stylings
of New Orleans-based Edmond Dede, to the modern masterpieces of
Ulysses Kay and George Walker, you’ll enjoy discovering the depth of the station
library music in February as KPAC and KTXI celebrate Black History
Month. Black performers and conductors will also be spotlighted
throughout the month.
