Let's see if I can explain this right! My friend and I got there a little late. Everything was already going. I thought they would have a cocktail hour, you know, like most charity events we have to go to. Anyway, they didn't. So, our walk in the place is so hoping! We check in and they tell us the table, so we go there, where these 2 ladies are sitting there. They say right off, "We are sitting at the ends." I'm like...what is up here! Anyway, I had just had surgery on that Monday, and there was no way in heck I could sit inside of a booth. So, of course, the silent little me says, "Well, I have to sit on the end, I had surgery and can't get inside the booth." (I just know I will get comments on that- no I am not too big!) So they bring me a chair, I'm sitting right in the way of everyone, but do I care? No, not really! Joan Van Ark [Valene Ewing of TV's Knots Landing] right off brings us a salad. The ladies start asking who we are and stuff and we tell them. We mentioned to them we had no idea who was who there, except of course, Leif. He was running around, taking his job very seriously. All of a sudden (I forgot to mention my friend did sit inside the booth), a photographer comes over and starts taking pictures of this lady at our table and another lady sitting next to her; my friend being shy kinda scoots out of the photo. A young guy comes over and the one lady at our table start doing an interview. We are like, who in the heck is this. So, he tells her some story line, and says something stupid about not knowing what he is supposed to do and all, so I say, "Well, you can start by getting us a drink!" So, off he goes and we ask them who it is. His name is David and he is on the TV soap, The Young and the Restless. So, he comes back with our drinks (they had a full open bar). For the rest of the night we had the full attention of David; he was our shadow! He's cute, young but very cute! We told him we didn't want to sit there and to find us another table, so he does. Anyway, we went to the bar, and I told David that I wanted to talk to Leif and he goes and tells him. Voila, he comes over to chit-chat for awhile, yes awhile. We talked about many different things. It was fun. He was very very playful! We took some pictures, and right about this time, my friend lets out a huge scream! I'm like s*** Rod Stewart must be here! So I'm looking around and she says almost out of breath, I mean she is really really excited...it's Jerry Dunphy, yes that is right, Jerry Dunphy from the news. She was truly excited over him! I thought he looked like the Kentucky Fried chicken guy, until she told me she was dead. Well, Leif is looking all around also, and David says, "That is not the way to get his attention." You should have heard her yell. She is so cute. Leif had a friend sitting at the bar...can't remember his name, it was something like Sabotage...well, that is what we are calling him. It isn't the right name, and he didn't do anything to earn that from us, but it is close to what his name sounds like. He was really cute with long hair and all, and he said he was a music producer. Aren't they all! Was this a better story? We kidded around with Leif for a while, maybe an hour, and David our new friend called us on our way home and said how great it was to meet us and all. By the way, I was always bringing up the Internet, telling Leif there was a rumor he goes on there or has e-mail. He looked at me shocked and he says- these are his exact words, "You know how I feel about the Internet, Sherrie, there is no way." End of story. So, if you are one of them who thinks he is writing them, be careful- it isn't him. Leif looked great, until the end, he looked a little...oh, gosh, I just can't say it!

What a deliriously good time was had by all at the seventh annual Celebrity Server City of Hope fundraiser at the Palm on Santa Monica Boulevard. You know, that gig where famous folks wait tables on us tawdry types.
Julianna Margulies was proudly showing off her yellow leather jacket--Gap couture, she called it--while nuzzling with her man, Ron Eldard. And bartender Judd Nelson--who can mix a Cosmopolitan about as well as he can act--revealed he's on his way to Romania to film a flick with Paulina Porizkova."I'm going to work on my gymnastics," he teased, between stirrings (or shakings, take your pick). Perpetual hanger-on Leif Garrett hung with Judd before hopping behind the bar to deliver drinks to the partygoers. That is, until he decided to take a little nap on the floor of the Hollywood hang. Charming! Even more impressive, Leif had to be escorted out by employees, and a friend had to drive the dubious dude home.
