Eleanor McEwen was the daughter of Finlay McCown, and was
born in Dick's Gap, in the Sherman Valley area . He died in 1798, leaving
a will , in which he mentions his
children;
Francis, a son
Finlay (Finley/Finlaw) a son
Margaret, wife of William Rogers (his will).
Elinor (married James Beatty and George Baxter.)
Rosana (married John Hoge, a famous Presbyterian minister)
