My name is Jason Barnes and I'm 24 years old.
I'm a native of the great state of West Virginia.
I'm a student at West Virginia University pursuing the Masters of Public Administration degree offered by the Division of Public Administration. My areas of interest are public finance and budgeting.
On Sunday, March 20, 1999, I was initiated into Alpha Kappa Psi, Professional Business Fraternity, Beta Rho chapter, at WVU. Alpha Kappa Psi's Mission is to develop well trained, ethical, skilled, resourceful and experienced business leaders.
When I'm not at school, I live just outside of
Charleston, West Virginia.
I'm a Christian and a Republican.
In the United States, today, there is a fundamental difference between the left and the right. In the case of welfare: "Liberals measure compassion by how many people are given welfare; conservatives measure compassion by how many people no longer need it",
The 35 Undeniable Truths of Life. The fact is that, under the guise of compassion, the liberal, political machine is empowered by dependency.
The idea that conservatives, today, are only interested in helping the rich is illogical. Democrats are who benefit, at the ballet box, from people being poor and oppressed - not Republicans. After all, for everyone who acquires their "American Dream", a new Republican voter is born!
Some people only view the Bible as a book of rules, which the religious establishment uses to control people. However, I see the Bible as a story of God's infinite love for humanity. He so loved us that he came down from Heaven and sacrificed himself for our sins. So, to other Christians who have ever struggled with their faith, or to ANYONE else who is searching, the following passages have been a source of comfort to me. Matthew 7:8, "For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened".
John 3:16-17, "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him".

Because I inherited Ocular Albinism, an organization in which I'm particularly interested is the American Foundation for the Blind.
My favorite sport is baseball, and my favorite team is the
Pittsburgh Pirates.
The greatest show ever put on television, in my opinion, was Dallas, and
the most unrivaled character ever conceived was J.R. Ewing.
And I think that the 1980's was a great American decade! We had Ms. Pac-Man; Dire Straits, "Money for Nothing" (I Want My MTV); but, best of all, we had a
Reagan in the White House.
