ABOUT MY LIFE IN THE MARINES

How I ended up in the Marines.

Well for sometime in my life I was getting involved with alot of drugs and I spent alot of my time drinking as much as I could. Through the guidence of my family and a little help with a bad acid trip, I got sometime to sober up. I realized what I was doing with my life, It was distroying the person I was and who I could be. My father shown below, was a Marine during Veitnam war. I have always looked up to my father, he has always been there for me. Even when I was going through my tougher times growing up. I got into the Marines because of his stories and I just wanted him to be proud of his son. When I went to bootcamp it was only the second time I have seen my father cry. The first time was when his father died.

What I do in the Marines.

I started out as a reagular riflemen in a grunt platoon. Withing a month of beeing in the fleet, my battalion (2/8) went to Spain for a diamic mix. That is were you show the other countries your military tactics and they show you there's. After that we ended up in brigeport, CA, for some mountian training. After brigeport the war on terrisom started so we went to Iraq. The battalion pulled a six month tour. We came back and I was moved into the Hq plt for the company. I became the Assitant Police Sgt, I work with a good friend A.J. Carr. Then we did a six month push to Afganistan. As of right know we are in the process of doing a work up for the 24 MUE. We will probly end up in Iraq for one more push. No one really knows were we are going or what we are doing. All I know is that we will be on a ship for the deration of the trip hopefully.

This picture here was when I was in Afganistan and I got to me the man of all men, R. Lee Ermey. Every guy that joins the Marines has to watch Full Metal Jacket. Every Marine looks up to Lee Ermey.
When I joined all I wanted was to find as many women as I could to sleep with. But I ended up with just one, the love of my life Jessica Barrios I actually met her through my mother. It took my breath away when I first saw her. I can't get enough of her, I really wouldn't know what to do with out her in my life. We are going to be getting married as soon as we dicide to do it. We will figure it out along the way. Jess is the one on the left, the one on the right is her friend Chelsea. I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with her.

The image below is called survivor. It was done on the battle feilds of vetnam. The poem below that is writen for every man that is in uniform. I have become a very patriotic person over my years of growing up. I plan on doing my left arm up as a menorial to every fallen Marine.

Bless our vigilant warriors
Give strength to overcome to valiant saviors
Our sons and daughters, wherever they may be
On land, sky, or sailing the briny sea...
Safeguard those so lonely, so far from home
In times blackened dark, yet adventuresome
Watch over them, our brothers, sisters, where they go
Guide them wisely in times they do not know.

Glorify our warriors' calling
Whom we sent forth, righteous principles guarding
Calling them far from home to distant sod
To serve ever faithful, our country, our God
Whether crouched in wind-swept desert foxholes sandy
Or poised on high mountain’s steep cranny
Steel them, brave men and women, our nation’s pride select
The world depends on them, riding war’s bestial ogre to protect!
Bless our nation’s children, carried courageous into duty
Bearing above all things, compassion for humanity
Keep the light of hope glowing ever bright
Bless might of swords flashing shining right
Honoring always, father, mother, sister, brother
Watching always the backs of one another...
Their lives for a country they love more than life offering
Bastions of our grand liberty protecting
World peace ever seeking!
May hearts of men be truly won
When battle’s finally done.
Buoy up these soldiers, our children, sad and so alone
Feeling need in guilt for things seen and done to atone
Give thine balm of Gilead to ease their pain
Shield their sanity in combat that drives men insane
Bless them that they may look back with pride, and smile
Though multitudes of strifes and hatreds rile.
Fortify in our warriors' hearts, humanity's essence
Be gentle when war takes away their innocence
May intrinsic life values still be their choice elect
Defend them from traumatic stress defect
So as they return home, reaching, searching, to touch the sky
Give them answer to the question, "why?"
So a grateful nation may say to valiant sons and daughters
by noble duty sent
"Well done, my good and faithful servant!"
