Januarny

(Jan. 15)OK I know it has been a while since I have updated this page. And today I really have reason to do it, cause it has been announced that Book 5 will be out June 21, 2003.

BOOK 5 RELEASE DATE!

It's official! Mark your calendars for Saturday, June 21st, 2003. Here's the official press release from Bloomsbury:

J.K. ROWLING'S HARRY POTTER AND THE ORDER OF PHOENIX TO BE PUBLISHED ON JUNE 21, 2003 IN THE UNITED STATES, BRITAIN, CANADA AND AUSTRALIA

The World's Most Anticipated Book Is Over One Third Longer Than Previous Book, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.

NEW YORK, NEW YORK: LONDON, ENGLAND: January 15, 2003 Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, by J.K. Rowling, the fifth in the bestselling series has been scheduled for release on Saturday, June 21, 2003 in the United States, Britain, Canada and Australia, it was announced today by Scholastic and Bloomsbury publishers. The companies also announced that Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix is over a third longer than J.K. Rowling's extraordinary previous book, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.

In making the joint announcement, Barbara Marcus, President of Scholastic Children's Books in the United States, and Nigel Newton, Chief Executive of Bloomsbury Publishing in Britain said: "We are thrilled to announce the publication date. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix is absolutely superb and will delight all J.K. Rowling's fans. She has written a brilliant and utterly compelling new adventure, which begins with the words:"

The hottest day of the summer so far was drawing to a close and a drowsy silence lay over the large, square houses of Privet Drive.....The only person left outside was a teenage boy who was lying flat on his back in a flowerbed outside number four.

Later in the novel, J.K. Rowling writes:

"Dumbledore lowered his hands and surveyed Harry through his half-moon glasses.

'It is time,' he said 'for me to tell you what I should have told you five years ago, Harry.

Please sit down. I am going to tell you everything.'"

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix is over 255,000 words compared to over 191,000 words in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. The new book is 38 chapters long, one more than Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.

Bloomsbury will be publishing their standard children's hardback edition (ISBN 07475 51 006) and in addition an adult hardback edition (ISBN 07475 69 401, the same text but with a different jacket) at the same time, both editions to be 768 pages long and priced at £16.99.

December

(Dec 12)I know that it has been some time since I have last updated this site, and I would just like to say sorry. Now here is what I have hear since October.

Is Christopher Lee really going to be the new Professor Dumbledore? Personally I think it should be Ian McKellen, every time I reread the Harry Potter series that is who I see as Dumbledore. However it is not up to me, but here is what Christopher Lee likes about being Dumbledore.

Is the 5th book really done? Now I have been telling people all along, how J. K. is going to do this. Now after book 4 we know that the first movie was being worked on. And if she would have released book number 5, she would be almost done. And we all know how smart J. K. is. So, what I have been saying is that after the 2nd movie was out. She would release book 5. And the next year movie 3 would come out. And the year after movie three would out book 6 and so on and so on. And if i have lost any of you this is while it should look like.

Book 1 (published) 1997; Book 2 (published) 1998; Book 3 (published) 1999; Book 4 (published) 2000; Movie 1 (released) 2001; Movie 2 (released) 2002; Book 5 (Should be published) 2003; Movie 3 (should be released) 2004; Book 6 (should be published) 2005; Movie 4 (should be released) 2006; Book 7 (should be published) 2007; Movie 5 (should be released) 2008; Movie 6 (should be released) 2009; Movie 7 (Should be released) 2010

Or at lest that is the way I would do it should I would keep my reads, and fans. And also so I would relaxs while writing.

May

(This news was brought to us by "The Leaky Cauldron.org")May 20, 2002 In response to this morning's Ananova rumor that said HP5 would be delayed until 2003, CBBC Newsround reports that the next Potter book is "still set for 2002":

Rumours the latest Harry Potter book has been delayed till 2003 are wrong, according to the publisher's website. Some reports over the last few days claimed Bloomsbury said the long awaited fifth book definitely wouldn't be out till 2003. But on Monday night the publishers dismissed those reports, again repeating the statement on their website saying: "JK Rowling is happily writing Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix and we anticipate that we will be publishing later this year."

There's no definite release date - JK Rowling will simply announce when she's finished writing. And Bloomsbury thinks that it's still likely to be this year, in 2002.

(This news was brought to us by "Harry potter Realm.com")May 9, 2002- 6:02 PM! CNN and other major cable news networks reported yesterday and today that Book 5 (tentatively titled Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix) may not come out until sometime in 2003.

This news comes after HP fans have been waiting months for the release. Book 5 was scheduled to release this summer or fall, over two years after Book 4 debuted on July 8th of 2000. It now looks like we may be waiting until July or August 2003, or maybe even later, to read Book 5. J. K. Rowling, recently married to Dr. Neil Murray, is apparently "still writing."

Now lets look into your furture!
