Unnoticed
Everytime you look my way
I find I want to cower from your gaze
I become afraid that the windows of my soul
Have become as clear as glass
And you will know my thoughts are of you...
Everytime I find a time to say
What is on my mind
Everytime I find the moment to do
What my heart desires
Self doubt chokes and binds me
Then in self defeat
I mask all I feel
With laughter and a quip.
Sometimes when I see you with another
My imagination wanders
And I become angry at myself.
Yes my eyes are brown
But there are flecks of green in them...
I try to wish them away,
But it is something I cannot control...
Sometimes others watch me watch you
And they know--they see
What I try so desperately to hide
Love barely contained
Love aflame
But unnoticed...
