State Road No. 14 Navy Yard Highway

State Road No. 14 Navy Yard Highway began at Jct. State Road No. 9 Olympic Highway on the north side of the Skokomish River and headed northeasterly via Union and Belfair to Gorst, then easterly to Port Orchard, then southerly, ending at Gig Harbor. The section from Port Orchard to Gig Harbor was added to the state highway system in 1923. This route was redesignated as Primary State Highway 14 in 1937.

Port Orchard-Harper Branch

The Port Orchard-Harper Branch of State Road No. 14 Navy Yard Highway was added to the state highway system in 1923. This branch connected the State Road No. 14 trunk at Port Orchard with the ferry landing at Harper. In 1937, this branch of State Road No. 14 became a branch of Primary State Highway 14.
