The Vaughn Hubbard Bridge

US 12 from Pasco to Burbank

There are actually two US 12 bridges between Pasco and Burbank. The older bridge, on the upstream (left) side, was opened in the early 1950s. This bridge replaced a bridge from the early 1920s that had been damaged by fire in the late 1940s. The downstream bridge opened in 1986. It was temporarily used for two-way traffic while the 1950s bridge was closed for renovation. The pair is named for Vaughn Hubbard, a former member of the State Transportation Commission.

The photo was taken in February 2003 with Pasco in the foreground.
