Stub and Review by L.H.

I was fortunate enough to have attended the world premiere last night. The movie was great, a lot better than I was expecting. I got a friend to come with me who for the most part just listens to jazz, so of course had never heard of anyone in the movie, but he apparently enjoyed it and described it as "the coolest documentary I've ever seen." He also said it was way better than the other 2 films he's seen at the SIFF this year.

It had a really good mood to it, the beginning was really nice and made him seem like a really great person and then you know it got a lot heavier as the film went on, but it still kinda maintained that good feeling, if that makes sense at all.

They used all these colorful animations for transistions, which at first felt a little over the top, especially for a documentary, but then I realized it actually seemed to fit Andy really well.

There were tons of people at the premiere, the theatre was almost full (there were about 1000 seats I'd say). It felt really nice to know that there's so many people that loved Andy and his music. Scot Barbour (the director) was there and did a little q & a section at the end, which I got a video of part of it....Toni Wood (Andy's mom) and Regan Hagar (Malfunkshun's drummer) were apparently there as well, though I didn't see them.

I hope everyone gets a chance to see the film sometime, it really was great.
