I was a world-renowned gourmet chef in Italy or a covert spy picked to work in the kitchens to uncover some secret scandal among the workers. Now as an adult, I have harbored that inner child and hopefully that unbridled creativity. I have always been the ambitious one, and one day many of my dreams in all their great detail will come true one by one. Yet never in my wildest dreams did I suspect I would be an aunt at the age of six. I remember being really confused the day my sister went into labor since I had not yet hit those vital teen years where you hear all about the birds and the bees. Nevertheless, the surprise I was literally handed a few hours after was one of the most memorable in my life. I watched Kati grow so tremendously over the years, from an awkward six year old to a cocky eleven year old who had all the wrong things to say to get herself into trouble (of course, her mother was the same way- always getting the last dig in with Dad.) It is now fifteen years after that first time experience of holding her and I she has now evolved into a gorgeous, smart and mature young lady. That was not enough for the fates to hand me, and I am incredibly proud and blessed to also have three very cute nephews to watch mature.
