Welcome to our Insatiable site!!

We hope that this website allows you to not only obtain a glimpse of the Iota Chapter and the rest of Omega Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated, but to also serve as a source of information on the occurrences at our chapter and the rest of our organization. We hope that this site becomes a resource to you.

We welcome you to begin your journey here - with the beginnings of our organization....

Omega Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated was founded on March 15, 1989 at the State University of New York at Albany by seventeen dedicated women of various cultural and ethnic backgrounds who came together to fight the apathy toward women in our society. Rising in the face of adversity these women struggled to end the injustices suffered by our gender as well as the Latino community as an extension of that. Since our inception over fifteen years ago, we have embraced women of all cultural backgrounds, as is reflected by the Founders and members of our Radiant Sisterhood. As the women of the Black, Forest Green, and Gold, we pride ourselves on the array of racial, ethnic, social, economic and political diversity that we possess and therefore portray within our organization. Each member is a pillar that strengthens and perpetuates our drive to continue Serving And Educating Through Our Diversity.

Since our initial explosion at the University of Virginia, we, the Iota Chapter, have been active contributors to our communities. Our never-ending service to our personal and surrounding communities extends to participating in many activities and programs such as the fight against hunger, fundraising for natural disasters, and educating about Domestic Violence, our national philanthropy. Our Chapter Cause, the Project Migrant Aid: Giving A Helping Hand, has given us the opportunity to support the Migrant workers and their families, in Charlottesville and its surrounding areas, through various methods ranging from participating and supporting the tutoring program sponsored by UVA’s Madison House’s Migrant Aid Program and translating at the UVA Health Center and the Charlottesville Free Clinic to hosting Halloween parties for the children to holding community-wide fundraisers like the International Cook-Off....and the list goes on.
