Monday
(to the tune of "Closer To Fine" by the Indigo Girls)

There's some woman trying to tell me 'bout my life
Says we've met before (hey, maybe she's my wife!)
But what sort of persuasive wizardry
could have made my partner take her seriously?
What if she's right after all? (nah.)

Well, that meeting sounds like it'll be interminable
And I really need to get that check cashed now
A stop by the bank will take me just a minute -
Oh damn, I hope his gun has nothing in it
Now I'm bleeding on the floor

(chorus)
I went to the bankhouse / And then Scully chased me
Bernard staged a holdup / I cried "Please don't waste me!"
There must be a better way to end this
Than standing here in this stupid line
But the more that this day stays within my memory
Closer I am to fine
Closer I am to fine

I went to see the Doctor in our basement room
with no poster of a UFO to lighten up the gloom
And She told me "Be careful -
We've been warned that we'll go plooie
If you go into the bank, so
you'd better listen to me."
I said "Sure thing!" but the ATM was down
So I went inside, and *BOOM*!

(chorus)
I went to the bankhouse / And then Scully chased me
Bernard staged a holdup / I cried "Please don't waste me!"
There must be a better way to end this
Than standing here in this stupid line
But the more that this day stays within my memory
Closer I am to fine
Closer I am to fine

I want to the bank at 10 am
Feeling like I'd done it all before, until the very end
And I woke up the next morning with the feeling it was new
Late again, but at least today my watch says TUE
so we know time's regained parity

(chorus)
I went to the bankhouse / And then Scully chased me
Bernard staged a holdup / I cried "Please don't waste me!"
I call to my partner / She grabs Bernie's lover
Who only gets herself shot as we all run for cover
There must be a better way to end this
Than standing here in this stupid line
But the more that this day stays within my memory
Closer I am to fine
Closer I am to fine
Closer I am to fine (yeah)
