CHUD.COM reports the opening sequence to the upcoming Friday The 13th movie:
The new Friday the 13th is going to open with Jason as a legend in the Crystal Lake area. Five kids out in the woods looking for a bunch of weed they planted and stumble upon the deserted Camp Crystal Lake. Sitting around the fire that night, the dweeby one (there's always a dweeby one) tells the legend of Jason Voorhees. After that the Survivor Girl and her boyfriend wander off into the woods, where they find a shitty old cabin. Inside are some clues, like a bed with the name Jason carved in it. An old picture of a girl who looks just like Survivor Girl.
And Mama Voorhees' head.
Cue Jason. He murderizes the other four kids, and as he grabs Survivor Girl... slam into the opening credits.

Sounds really promising, and whether or not nit-picky fans want to admit that it is a remake, as if a term will change anything. It seems to be a remake starting with Friday The 13th Part 2, the movie where Jason was the killer and of course Jason had his mother's head as sort of a reminder of what had happened to her. People are starting to call it a prequel, but it will no doubt re-write anything that existed after the original Friday The 13th- I call that a remake.

Added 46 new movies. Not much time to do a lot more. While you're here keep in mind to check this kick ass show out:

Welcome to my Friday The 13th fan site for the first five movies. As a kid I watched the first five movies continuously on a rented VCR in the mid eighties. Needless to say twenty or more years later these movies still have a great impact in my life and remain my favorite horror movies to watch.

This site was at first erected to display my horror movie & autograph collection and to archive the Friday The 13th photographs that I have collected over the years from other sites, books, Fangoria & other magazines. Some things that I collected as a kid and hold dear to my heart more than fifteen years later- some other things that simply put I stole from another site, most of which are now defunct or no longer maintained.

I decided to make it an official Friday The 13th fan site after a few handfuls of people recommended it. So, alas, welcome to at! I hope the site isn't a total bore. I hope the information is worthwhile and extensive on the first five Friday The 13th films. Feel free to link us, and come back often!
