Small, maggot-like, flying monsters.
Scrags can vomit up acid from their stomachs in a projectile fashion; this fluid is highly corrosive and can dissolve almost any solid, including most metals. By venting or filling their many body sacs with the internally-produced, buoyant gas that keeps them afloat, a Scrag can move through the air in any direction it desires.
Because of their gas-based means of flight, Scrags move about rather slowly which makes them an easy target for firearms. They're also not terribly damage resistant. While the creatures can afford to lose several, the rupturing of too many of a Scrag's body sacs can severely hamper its flying ability, or worse, cause it to plummet to its death.
