THE DAILY AGENDA- Resource Reading
In tbis class, we will be developing strong readers through Vocabulary Building and Reading Comprehension Skills.
Vocabulary Building - Dictionary/Thesaurus Skills,
Context Clues, Prefixes/Suffixes, and Synonym/Antonym
Reading Comprehension Skills - Cause and Effect, Compare/Contrast, Fact and Opinion, Inferences, Main Idea, Sequencing, Word Choices

10 Minutes |
Students are to copy the daily agenda and get started on the assignment, which is usually a short bell assignment which can include: vocabulary or a short reading comprehension assignment. |
20 Minutes |
Students will be given an Independent Reading Assignment or Group Reading Assignment. In group, the teacher will work with a group of students with the same ability level on various skills that build comprehension and reading ability. |
10 Minutes |
Students will be given a lesson that relates to either the Independent Reading Assignment or what was discussed in group reading. |
5 Minutes |
Students are given an overview of the next days activities and allowed to prepare to leave. |
Times may vary depending on length of class period. |
