DORIS MARIE SQUYRES HIGHSMITH, 53, died in June of
1985 while living in Ranger. Burial was at Bullock
Cemetery.
She was born January 5, 1932, to Cordie Lheo Stephenson
and Willie Leo Squyres. Doris was married to Billy
Highsmith who was in the Class of 1951. They operated
the Cattlemen's Restaurant in Eastland for many years
and Doris Marie was very interested in crafts and family
genealogy. Her sister was Dorothy Squyres Miller (RHS-1948)
and she was also survived by a brother, Don Squyres of
Breckenridge. An older sister died young. Doris' daughters
are Carolyn Highsmith Monroe (RHS-1973), Pat Highsmith
Proffit (RHS-1977), and Anita Highsmith Boone (RHS-1981).
