Ranger Exes Memorial - RHS Class of 1936

Lucille Woods LUCILLE WOODS BROWN died in 1992. Her parents were Harvey Orville & Una Davenport Woods. She attended Ranger High School in the Class of 1936 at Ranger, TX. She married Earl Brown (RHS-1936) and they had one daughter, Elizabeth Brown Richey (RHS-1959). Woods Grocery Store & Orville Woods FATHER: HARVEY ORVILLE WOODS, 87, died on June 13, 1980. He was born on March 7, 1893 and married Una Davenport in June of 1916. They had two sons: Harvey Orville, Jr. (RHS-1942) & Bobby Leonard Woods (RHS-1943); and two daughters, Daisy Pounds (RHS-1937) and Lucille Woods (RHS-1936). He operated the Woods Grocery & Market on Young Street in Ranger for 35 years. MOTHER: UNA DAVENPORT WOODS, 92, died on March 24, 1989 with burial at the Pioneer Cemetery in Ranger, TX. Born in Eastland County on March 28, 1896, she attended school in Ranger and was a lifelong resident. She and her late husband, Harvey Orville Woods Sr., owned and operated Woods' Grocery and Market in Ranger for 35 years. A member of the First United Methodist Church, she sang in the choir, taught Sunday school and was a member of the Martha Dorcas Sunday School Class. Survivors at the time of her death include two sons, H.O. Woods Jr. (RHS-1942) of Midland and Bobby Leonard Woods (RHS-1943) of Lafayette, LA; two daughters Lucille Brown (RHS-1936) and Daisy Woods Pounds (RHS-1937), both of Ranger; a brother, W.G."Mike" Davenport of Graham; a sister, Betty Davenport Craig (RHS-1929) of Ranger; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a great- great-grandchild; and several nieces & nephews.
