Ranger Exes Memorial - RHS Class of 1943

Bobby Woods BOBBY LEONARD WOODS, 79, of Sugar Land, TX formerly of Ranger, TX passed away on July 29, 2006, with burial at Evergreen Cemetery in Ranger. Mr. Woods was born October 10, 1926 to Harvey Orville & Una Davenport Woods. He graduated from Ranger High School in 1943. Bobby later married Gladys Nell Bond and they spent many years together until her passing in 1993. He was a proud member of the Methodist Church. Bob was a scratch avid golfer and sportsman. He was extremely proud of his service in the Marine Corps during World War II. Following the war, Bob loved his days as a cowboy working in Wild Canyon. After his cowboy days he became a petroleum engineer for 32 years and during that time he created a down hole treatment that received a patent. He enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys, life in general. Survivors at the the time of his death include two daughters, Tamara Fox of Philadelphia and Sarah Ann Austin of Houston; one brother, H.O. Woods (RHS-1942) of Midland; one granddaughter, Elly Davenport Austin of Houston; one nephew, L.H. Pounds (RHS-1965) of Rockwall and three nieces, Alyce Pounds Gooch (RHS-1961) of Big Lake, Barbara Hamilton of Cheyenne, WY, and Gloria Sadler of Artesia, NM. He was preceded in death by his wife; two sisters, Lucille Woods Brown (RHS-1936) and Daisy Woods Pounds (RHS-1937) both of Ranger; & his parents.
