UPDATE - June 29
Since June 12, the green '97 Defender has been to Land Rover Austin no less than four times for electrical failure issues. Annoyed by the never-ending failure and the incompetency of the Defender's 4-speed automatic transmission, I casually asked how possible it would be to "trade" Defenders with them, as they had a rather pretty 5-speed '95 AA Yellow model in the lot.
I'm picking the yellow one up this morning and driving it home to Dallas, where it will rest for two weeks. After that, it comes back to LR Austin, where my bumpers, winch, lights, tires, and all of my other modifications will be transferred. It works out well, I get an AA Yellow 5-speed, and they get a newer model year with less miles to sell for more.
I'll be putting more up some day, I promise.
