Courtney and Carly talk outside of Kelly's. Carly tells her that Sonny hasn't been sleeping well lately and has been having nightmares about Lily's death. Alcazar overhears them talking and is pleased that his plan against Sonny is working. Courtney tells her that her own nightmares are starting to fade a little. Courtney also mentions that she noticed how Sonny was acting strangely the other day and mentioned seeing some woman that wasn't there. Carly worries that Sonny is so afraid that she is going to die and lose the baby like Lily did with their child, that he is getting paranoid and seeing Lily in his dreams lately. Alcazar interrupts their talk. Courtney tells him to go away and leave them alone. Alcazar asks Carly how the baby is doing. She tells him he is fine. Alcazar mentions to them that he just bought the old Water street warehouse and that it is outside Sonny's territory and that they can tell him that themselves and remind him that he is keeping his word to stay out of Sonny's territory. Sonny shows up at the "Cellar" to find Carly waiting there for him with the place closed and a candlelit dinner waiting for them with champagne. Carly puts on some soft music and they dance and kiss. Their evening is interrupted by a phone call.
Courtney calls Carly at the club and asks her to come meet her and that she needs her help. Carly leaves Sonny waiting at the club and reassures him she will be fine. Sonny hears a song that reminds him of his wedding to Lily. He thinks about that wedding and changes the music quickly. He notices a shadow moving across the foyer into the club. He realizes it is Faith. Faith comes into the club and ignores Sonny when he asks her to leave. She goes over to the bar and opens up the bottle of champagne Carly had out for them. She pours two glasses and hands one over to Sonny to toast to the old days. Sonny refuses to drink his champagne because of her history of poisoning others in the past. He asks her to switch drinks with him and to drink his to call her bluff. Faith tells him he is paranoid. He tells her to drink it. She drinks it and pretends to be getting weak from it. He asks her to leave. She tells him she didn't come over to kill him but that he may get killed by someone else.
Later, Sonny sees another person enter the club. Faith had gone to the hospital to see Marcella and hands her a compact mirror to look at her new face, which Marcella is nervous to see. Marcella looks at herself and is amazed at how beautiful she looks. Sonny almost breaks the bottle of champagne when the figure comes into the light and it is "Lily." Sonny is in shock. Alcazar meets up with Faith and tells her the plan has to happen tonight since he has Sonny where he wants him, paranoid and thinking of Lily in his dreams. Alcazar makes some phone calls on his cellphone. A man in a ski mask comes up from behind him and pulls a cord around his neck tight and starts to strangle Alcazar. Cop sirens are heard coming toward the alleyway. The masked man drops Alcazar on the ground, unconscious and runs off. Jason comes to the alleyway with his gun drawn but the masked man gets away. Jason checks on Alcazar but takes off in case the police find him. Carly and Courtney meet on the docks. Courtney tells her that she has a bad feeling that Jason is going to get himself in trouble and goes on to explain what she overheard Jason tell Nikolas, about getting rid of Alcazar tonight. Courtney asks her what they should do. Carly tells her to go home and forget what she heard and that Jason will take care of himself. Carly tells her she is going to go back to her club where Sonny is waiting for her and the two of them are going to have a romantic dinner. Carly finds Alcazar laying on the ground unconscious near the entrance to the "Cellar." She goes over to him and checks his pulse. She gets up and walks away but thinks about the times he saved her life and her baby's life. She decides she can't leave him to die and goes over to try and help him. Stefan returns to Wyndemere, and is revealed to be the mysterious masked man who attacked Alcazar in the alley. He pulls his mask and gloves off just as Nikolas enters the room.
Sonny thinks that seeing Lily means that he is about to lose Carly and the baby. He shatters glass and cuts himself to prove that he is not dreaming. Lily doesn't move or speak. Sonny thinks that she has come back to help him, to tell him that something terrible is going to happen to Carly. He thinks that losing Carly the same way that he lost Lily is his punishment for letting Lily die. He asks her to pray for him and to ask god to help him. He cannot watch Carly die the same way that he watched her die. Lily disappears. ason arrives at The Cellar. Sonny tells him that he saw Lily. He tells Jason that Lily told him that he was going to lose Carly. Jason asked if Lily spoke and Sonny tells him that she didn't have to, because he saw her. Jason tells Sonny that he thinks he just saw his own fear. Jason tells Sonny that someone killed Lorenzo before he got to him. Jason tries to help Sonny understand his fear and urges him to not let anything happen to Carly, that he should get up and fight. Back at the penthouse, Carly tells Sonny that she saved Lorenzo's life, because she didn't want Jason to be arrested for murder. Sonny tells Carly that Jason didn't kill Lorenzo, and that he found him almost dead. He tells her that he thought she was with Courtney instead Carly was running around in alleys, putting herself in danger and saving his enemy. She tried to tell him that she saved him because she wanted to save Jason, but Sonny accuses her of saving him because Carly has feelings for Lorenzo, because she cares about him.
Carly revives an almost dead Lorenzo. She screams for help, Georgie and Dillon come to help. Carly tells Dillon to get Lorenzo's car and they take him back to his apartment. Lorenzo asks Carly why she saved him. Carly, Dillon and Georgie take Lorenzo back to his apartment. Georgie leaves after promising not to say anything. Dillon remains at the apartment. Lorenzo asks Carly why she saved him, was it to protect someone? She asks him not to retaliate and to leave Port Charles. He promises not to retaliate against Sonny and Jason. Carly tells Lorenzo that he saved her and now they were even. Meanwhile, "Lily" is about to knock on the door, when she overhears Carly's voice. Instead, she hides. Carly leaves Dillon with Lorenzo, not seeing "Lily" in the shadows. "Lily" arrives at Lorenzo's apartment and he asks her about her progress. She tells him that she didn't have to speak, because Sonny talked for her. Lorenzo tells her that Sonny is going to get back his dead wife and in return he will take Carly. Marcella/Lily is practicing her speech, learning how to speak like Lily. She tells Lorenzo that becoming Lily and haunting Sonny is not going to win Carly's heart. Lorenzo tells her that the plan is to convince Sonny that his family is in danger. She asks him how he met Carly. He tells her that he wanted to use Carly as leverage against Sonny, and they made a connection. He tells her that Carly deserves better than Sonny and he wishes that he would have met her under different circumstances. He tells her that he admires Carly and that he wants her in his life. Lorenzo tells her that she needs to pay Sonny another visit, but she tells him that she cannot. Lily tells Lorenzo that Carly would hate him if she ever found out what he is doing to her family. Lorenzo tells her that he doesn't like what he is doing, but it is necessary.
Sonny and Carly continue to argue about why she saved Lorenzo. She recollects the night's events back to Sonny and how she almost left him, but she couldn't. They took him back to his apartment, he promised that he would not retaliate. He tells her that one day, he is not going to be able to get over the anger. He asks her if she ever thinks about the day when the anger does burn out, but he won't have anything left. Carly tells him that the closer they get to the baby's due date, the more she sees him going further inside himself, fighting demons in his sleep or sitting downstairs in the dark. She tells him that it breaks her heart to see him think that he is alone in this. She tells him how scared she is and how she needs him more now than ever, but he is just pulling further and further away. Jason returns to the penthouse to tell Sonny about Lorenzo. Sonny tells Jason about Carly saving him. Sonny tells Jason that he is beginning not to care anymore because these things keep happening. He wonders why she would save Lorenzo, the man who kidnapped her, his enemy. Jason tells him that people act differently when they are scared and Sonny thinks that he means that he is going crazy for seeing Lily. Jason tells him that he needs to figure out this situation with Lily because his family is falling apart, and Sonny tells him that it would have been easier if Carly would have let Lorenzo die. Jason tells him that Stefan was the one who attempted to kill Lorenzo. He tells Jason to give Lorenzo this information as a show of good faith. Sonny goes for a walk. Sonny returns home and Lily is standing out in the terrace. He walks over and opens the door. He asks her what she is trying to tell him, but Carly comes down stairs. He closes the door. She asks him to come upstairs.
Carly shows Sonny a picture of Sonny and Lily that she found in the living room. Sonny denies getting the picture out, claiming that the LAST time Sonny saw that particular picture was a couple of weeks after Lily died. Meanwhile, Alcazar meets with his "new Lily"{Marcella} at the cemetery and explains that he has concocted a scheme to get Sonny to keep looking for Lily's spirit at the cemetery, since the new Lily worries about Sonny tumbling to their scam so long as Lily continues to appear on Sonny's terrace. Later, Sonny gets a call from the cemetery caretaker, who explains that Lily's grave was dug up by mistake when the cemetery personnel had been asked to disinter a different body! The caretaker explains that they need to have Sonny come to the cemetery to check things out before they can seal the grave up again! Sonny rushes out of the Penthouse without telling Carly where he is going. So Carly orders a car for herself and tails Sonny to the cemetery. Carly watches from hiding and overhears as Sonny insists that the cemetery attendant show him Lily's body before he allows the cemetery staff to re-seal Lily's grave. When the attendant leaves, Carly steps out of the shadows and lets Sonny know that she followed him. Sonny finally confides to Carly that he has been seeing visions of Lily. As Sonny explains that he believes that Lily is appearing because she is trying to warn Sonny of an impending tragedy, Carly gently suggests that perhaps Sonny is seeing Lily because Lily is trying to reassure Sonny that it is okay to feel free to love the family Sonny now has. As Sonny hugs Carly, he looks over Carly's shoulder and sees Carly's name on Lily's gravestone. But, after Sonny looks away for a minute, he again sees Lily's name on the gravestone. Later, when Sonny and Carly get ready to leave, Carly walks back for a last look at Lily's grave. When Sonny looks up, he sees "Lily" and Marcella (the Lily~impersonator} whispers: "She will never understand!"
Sonny sees Lily on the other side of the gate at the cemetery. She tells him that "she doesn't understand" while Carly's back is turned to him. Sonny tells Carly to keep her back turned while he goes closer to the gate to see Lily. Carly turns around and calls to Sonny about what he is talking about. Sonny turns back around and Lily is gone. Carly becomes even more concerned when he insists that he just saw Lily and she talked to him. He tells Carly what Lily said. Carly tells him she does understand and worries about his state of mind. Sonny has Johnny take her home and insists on staying at the cemetery in case "Lily" returns. Carly reluctantly returns home. Courtney and Michael are eating ice cream at Kelly's when Courtney gets a call on her cell phone. The reception is bad so Courtney steps away from Michael for a minute to take the call within hearing distance from Michael. Michael is eating his sundae when "Lily" approaches him and waves to him. Michael tells her that he can't talk to strangers. "Lily" tells him she isn't a stranger and that she knows his father. She shows him a ruby ring and tells him that Sonny gave her that ring and to tell Sonny that she will see him soon and needs to talk to him again. Michael agrees to give her the message. Courtney gets off the phone and asks Michael who he is talking to. Michael asks Courtney if she knows the woman. Courtney doesn't see her since she disappears.
Sonny isn't happy when Faith shows up at the cemetery with flowers for her husband. Sonny sees "Lily" again and asks Faith if she saw her too on the other side of the gate. Faith tells him she saw a woman with dark hair, small build and what could have been a pink dress. Carly returns home to find Jason there. She tells him that Sonny told her about seeing Lily and that she followed Sonny to the cemetery. She tells him that Sonny claims he saw "Lily" earlier but she didn't and is worried about his mental state. Jason suggests to her to do nothing and let Sonny handle it now. Carly doesn't agree. Sonny shows up with Faith. He tells Faith to tell Jason and Carly that she saw a woman who looked like Lily on the other side of the gate at the cemetery. Carly wonders what Faith is up to and why Sonny is buying Faith's story. Sonny dismisses Faith and warns her to stay away from the cemetery. After she leaves, Carly tells him she doesn't like that Faith just happened to be at the cemetery when he was when "Lily" happened to appear. Jason agrees that he is bothered by that coincidence. Courtney comes home with Michael. Michael brings home more ice cream for Carly. Michael tells Sonny about seeing some woman that he knows. Courtney interrupts to stop Michael from telling Sonny but Sonny tells him to go on. Michael explains that the woman showed him a red ring and told him he gave it to her and that she wanted him to know that she wants to see him again and they need to talk again. Sonny tells Carly and everyone that the engagement ring he gave Lily had a red stone.
Carly and Courtney are in the examining room at G.H. while Dr. Meadows does an ultrasound on Carly. Dr. Meadows has a concerned look on her face and abruptly tells Carly that she needs to consult with another doctor about the ultrasound. Carly doesn't like the look on Dr. Meadows' face and tells Courtney that something is wrong with the baby.
Sonny asks Michael about the woman he saw outside Kelly's. Michael tells him that she was wearing a pink dress and had dark hair but that she was in the dark a little and then disappeared. Sonny shows Michael a picture of him with Lily and asks him if she was the woman he saw. Michael confirms that it was the same woman. Carly isn't pleased with this news and has Michael go into the kitchen and then up to his room. Sonny tells Carly that this proves that Lily is really there if Michael saw her too. Jason agrees that this changes things and that this is more than a coincidence. Sonny tells them he has to go back to the cemetery and wait for her to come back and tell him what she needs to tell him. After he takes off Carly asks Jason to follow him but not to interfere but just to find out what he is going to do next. Jason agrees to follow him. After he leaves, Carly tells Courtney that she needs to go to the hospital and have an ultrasound to prove to Sonny that nothing is wrong with their baby. Courtney agrees to take her. Sonny arrives at the cemetery. "Lily" appears shortly after that but Jason arrives. Sonny asks him what he is doing there. Jason tells him he is worried about him and Carly asked him to follow him for protection. Sonny tells him he needs to figure out what is going on here and doesn't want his interference. Jason is about to leave when Sonny sees "Lily" at the gate again and Jason sees her too. Sonny asks her to tell him what is going on. Jason pulls out his gun and aims it toward the gate. "Lily" runs away.
At first Sonny is angry with Jason for scaring her off. Jason explains that if Lily was a ghost she wouldn't have run off scared. He tells him that the person at the gate ran away because she was afraid he would shoot her. Jason leaves Sonny alone. Sonny waits around again. "Lily" appears again at the gate. Sonny asks her what she wants to tell him. He figures it has something to do with his unborn child. She tells him that something is wrong with his baby's heart. Afterwards, Sonny shows up to tell Carly that he saw "Lily" again and that there is something wrong with the baby's heart. Dr. Meadows comes into the room and tells Sonny that he is correct and that their baby has a whole in its heart between the right and left atrium . Jason is there and hears the news as well. Marcella starts to feel badly for her part in Alcazar's scheme to manipulate Sonny into leaving Carly. Jason discovers "Lily's" footprints, causing him to believe that she's not the ghostly vision Sonny has made her out to be.
Jason tells Sonny about the footprints he found by Lily's grave, making Sonny lash out at him when he suggests that the ghost haunting him isn't real. Bobbie throws a party for Carly and Sonny, but her daughter arrives alone. Sonny has another "Lily" spotting at the cemetery and he asks her what he can do to keep Carly and their baby safe. Sonny becomes alarmed when the "Lily" imposter hints that Carly is in danger from Sonny's enemies just as Lily and her unborn baby had also been in danger from Sonny's enemies! Sonny leaps to the conclusion that Carly is in mortal danger at Luke's Place and rushes out of the cemetery.
At Carly's shower at Luke's Place, Carly tries to apologize for Sonny's absence and Mike announces that Courtney and Jason have gone to the French countryside to be married and enjoy a romantic honeymoon. In the meantime, Faith slips in to Luke's Place and keeps Alcazar informed via cell~phone. After Sonny leaves the cemetery, Fake Lily complains to Alcazar that their plan is not working! But, when Lorenzo learns that Sonny rushed out to 'rescue' Carly at Luke's Place, Lorenzo proclaims that his plan is working perfectly! Carly is shocked when Sonny suddenly bursts into the Club and demands that Carly leave the party immediately. While Bobbie and the rest of the guests puzzle over Sonny's agitated appearance, Faith reports to Alcazar that their plan is working beautifully.
Sonny and Carly return to the Penthouse and, when Carly learns that the "tip" that Carly was in danger came from "Lily's Ghost", Carly implores Sonny to realize that they are dealing with no ghost and that someone very real is setting Sonny up to believe that Sonny is seeing Lily's spirit! After Max reports that there was nothing wrong with any of the cars or in the parking lot, Sonny implores Carly to quit fighting Sonny's efforts to keep Carly and her baby safe! Although Carly assures Sonny that nothing is going to happen to her or her baby, Sonny announces that he must move out of the Penthouse, in order to protect Carly's life and the life of their baby. Carly tries to talk Sonny out of his plan to leave home, but Sonny refuses to listen! Carly brings Michael to Kelly's. She finds Bobbie there and tells her that Sonny moved out of the penthouse because he is afraid for her life and the baby's life if he stays close to them right now. She doesn't mention to Bobbie about how Sonny claims to see Lily's ghost and how Lily warned him about her safety but only tells her that Sonny has been thinking about how Lily died in the car bomb meant for him and feels scared for her. Bobbie doesn't understand why he would move out but could see how he would do that if he felt he was putting her in danger.
Sonny is eating on the terrace at the Port Charles Grill. Alcazar comes over and sits at his table. He tells him he learned Sonny registered for a room at the hotel and questions his loyalty to Carly. Sonny tells him he has his reasons and that he will see him dead before he will allow him to have his wife. Alcazar leaves with a smug look on his face. He shows up at Kelly's and sits down at Carly's table. He tells her he knows Sonny moved out of their home to stay at the hotel and asks about the baby. Carly tells him that it is only temporary and that they still love each other despite what it looks like. She gets a call is surprised. Sonny gets a call on his cellphone as well and tells the person on the other end of the line he will be right there (we don't get the details but its obviously Jason and Courtney telling them about their wedding). The priest is set to start the ceremony when Jason interrupts him and tells Courtney that he invited some guests and is waiting for them. Carly shows up at the park as well as Sonny moments later. Sonny gives Carly a bouquet to give Courtney. Courtney is ecstatic when she sees them and realizes how much she wanted them to be there for her special day. The priest starts the ceremony. Sonny and Carly look at each other from afar.
Lorenzo congratulates Lily for a job well done because Sonny moved out of the Penthouse. Following the wedding, Sonny declares that he has moved out of the Penthouse. Carly later confides to Jason that she is about at the end of her rope with Sonny pushing her away. After Sonny boards his private plane for the return trip, Sonny is surprised when Carly suddenly shows up on Sonny's plane. Lorenzo has made arrangements to sabotage Sonny's plane. After Sonny and Carly's plane takes off, Lorenzo receives word from his thugs that Carly also boarded Sonny's plan at the last moment. Lorenzo orders his associate to warn Sonny's pilot to turn the plane around, but learns that the plane is too far out over the sea to return safely to land before it runs out of fuel! Lorenzo confides to Lily that he is afraid that Carly will now die because of Lorenzo's actions. Aboard Sonny's plane, as Carly and Sonny argue about Sonny moving out of the Penthouse to protect Carly's life, the plane suddenly begins to descend sharply and violently shake, Carly falls on the floor. Sonny picks her up and calls the pilot. He tells Sonny that the plane is running out of fuel and they may not make it to land. Carly does not let Sonny blame himself, she tells him that this is not his fault and they need to focus on the fact that they are together, but Michael is alone. Sonny calls Courtney and tells her that there is trouble with the plane. He begins to tell her how proud he is of her. She refuses to take this as a goodbye. He hands the phone to Carly, she tells Courtney that she doesn't know if there is a chance that the plane will land safely. She tells Courtney how happy she is for her and Jason. Courtney hands the phone to Jason. She asks him to take care of Michael. Sonny also gives his goodbyes. They hang up and Jason tries to find a way to save the plane.
Carly tells Sonny that they have to call Michael to tell him that they love him. He tells Michael that he loves and is very proud of him. Sonny gives the phone to Carly and she tells him how much she loves him. Michael asks about the baby. She tells him that no matter what, her and Sonny are always with him. Lorenzo hopes that the plane will land safely, since Carly is on board. He hears from the tower that the plane has made contact and there may be a chance of the plane landing safely. He tells Marcella that if the plane lands safely, he will never risk losing Carly again. The pilot informs Sonny that the coastline is in sight and he is going to attempt a crash landing. She tells him how glad she is that they shared a life together and that he means everything to her. Sonny tells her that he didn't feel anything before he met her. And she filled his life. The phone rings and the pilot tells him that they are attempting a crash landing. They hold hands as the plane begins to shake. The plane lands and the pilot tells them that they need to evacuate the plane. Lorenzo checks on the status of the plane and tries to cover his tracks to ensure that the fuel leak does not lead back to him.
On the ground, Sonny tells Carly that she needs to go home alone. She tells him that they are both fine and Lily's warning did not come true. He tells her that it came too close, since he was supposed to be on that plane by himself. He refuses to put Carly in jeopardy. He tells her that he is going to file for divorce and walks away. She calls for him and Lorenzo appears. Jason returns to the hotel room and Sonny calls him. He tells Jason that they landed safely. Courtney and Jason are both relieved. Marcella writes a goodbye letter to Lorenzo. She tells him that it would be best if Sonny never sees Lily again. Sonny thanks the pilot for saving them. He asks him if it is possible that the plane was tampered with and the pilot says that it is possible. Sonny asks him to examine the plane himself and let him know what he finds. Carly asks Lorenzo what he is doing there. He tells her that he keeps an eye on her. She tells him that he needs to leave her alone. As she is walking away, he tells her that he thanks God that she is alive.
Back home, Carly fills Bobbie in on Jason and Courtney's wedding, Carly explains about the plane's fuel leak during the return trip to Port Charles. They are interrupted when a real estate agent arrives. The real estate agent announces that Sonny just bought Carly's dream home for her. At the same time, Jason and Courtney return home and discover that Sonny has moved in to their apartment! Sonny explains that he believes the plane was sabotaged and asks Jason to ramrod the investigation. When Courtney questions why Sonny is planning to live with Courtney and Jason, Sonny explains that he just wants to keep an eye on Carly and Michael until Carly can get moved in to the dream home that Sonny just bought for her. Carly shocks the real estate agent when Carly insists that she could not possibly move in to the new house until after her baby is born! After the agent leaves, Carly complains to Bobbie that Sonny is once again splitting up with Carly in order to "protect" Carly and her children from Sonny's enemies! Later, as Carly tries to locate Sonny at the Hotel, Courtney arrives and informs Carly that Sonny is across the hall, outlining a new job for Jason. Carly bursts in to Jason's Penthouse and blasts Sonny for trying to buy her off with a dream home which does not include Sonny in residence! Sonny continues to argue that Sonny's plan is the only plan that will keep Carly safe. Carly blasts Sonny for infringing on Jason and Courtney's honeymoon! Carly declares that Sonny will not be able to get rid of Carly as easily as Sonny believes then Carly storms out of the apartment. Courtney follows Carly back to Sonny's penthouse and Carly urges Courtney to throw Sonny out and demand the post-wedding privacy that Jason and Courtney are entitled to be enjoying!
Jason also tries to convince Sonny that leaving Carly and planning live apart from Carly is not the answer to Sonny's fears for his family. Sonny's bodyguard, Johnny, reports to Alcazar that Sonny bought Carly a house and is making arrangements for Carly to live away from Sonny! Later, Lorenzo takes possession of a unique jeweled pendant, which Alcazar declares to the gem dealer is a gift for a unique woman! Sonny returns to the graveyard with flowers for Lily's grave and implores Lily to tell Sonny if the near-accident on the plane was the disaster that Lily had been trying to warn Sonny about. As Sonny declares that he will assume that it is now safe for Sonny to reunite with his family if he does not see Lily again, Faith suddenly arrives! Sonny demands to know what Faith is doing at the cemetery! Faith announces that there is something that Sonny needs to know! Marcella arrives at the Penthouse and heads for Sonny's apartment!
Marcella is just about to knock on Carly's door when someone grabs her and covers her mouth. He hides her around the corner. Carly hears the knock and thinks it is Johnny and calls for him to come in. When there is no answer, Carly goes and opens the door after yelling up to Michael that she will be across the hall at Jason's. She opens the door and calls to Johnny but there is no one she can see in the hallway. She goes across the hall to Jason and Courtney's place. Courtney tells Jason that she wishes Sonny would go back and live with Carly where he belongs and she wishes they could have more privacy. Jason tells her that he can't interfere with Sonny's marriage problems. Carly shows up and asks Jason if he just came over and knocked on the door. Jason goes and checks it out. Johnny goes into Sonny's penthouse and places an envelope on the mantel with Sonny's name on the front. He takes off his gloves and leaves the penthouse just as Jason comes out of his apartment. He asks what Johnny was doing. Johnny tells him he was just checking to make sure everything was safe. Jason notices that Johnny appears a little nervous about something. He lets him go do his business. Alcazar takes Marcella back to the park and tells her she needs to finish the job he paid her for by going to the cemetery and that she needs to warn Sonny that he needs to stay away from Carly to protect her from more danger. Marcella doesn't want to work for him anymore but she agrees to do this for him.
Faith tells Sonny at the cemetery that Alcazar will do anything to get Carly from him. Sonny asks her why she is all of the sudden concerned for what happens to him. She tells him that she wants it to be like before with peace between the five families. Sonny returns home. Carly hangs out across the hall and complains about Sonny to them. Courtney hints to her that she and Jason want to be alone. Carly gets the hint after telling Jason that she advised Courtney to not let him trample over her like Sonny does. She leaves. She finds Sonny having a drink. She tries to convince him to move back in with them and act like a family. Sonny still feels he is better off away from them. Carly kisses him and tries to change his mind. He agrees to take her out to dinner later instead. She goes upstairs to change. Sonny sees the envelope on the mantel. He reads the letter, from "Lily" talking about how she knew he would someday tell her he loved her if he had had a chance to. He goes to the cemetery again hoping she will show up.
Sonny waits for "Lily" to show up. She does and tells him from the other side of the gate that he needs to stay away from Carly because she is still in danger and he is the cause of it. He mentions the letter she sent him. She tells him that the happiest day of her life is when Sonny told her he loved her (Sonny later reveals to Jason this is when he knew she wasn't Lily as this is the biggest regret of their marriage is that he NEVER told Lily he loved her). Sonny asks her for more information about Carly but she disappears. Sonny talks to Lily's grave and reminds her that he did tell her he loved her after she died and that she knew it and so why doesn't that other Lily know that. He starts to figure out he has been set up. Carly dresses up and is upset when she finds Sonny is gone again. She complains to Courtney, who comes over to check on her. She tells her that she is going to go out and make Sonny jealous in order to make him not keep her out of his sight. Courtney tries to stop her but she goes and leaves. Jason returns and Courtney tells her what happened. Jason realizes that Carly is going to go find Alcazar to make Sonny jealous.
Carly meets with Alcazar. He tells her that she is trying to make Sonny jealous and that he will help her if it means he can get closer to him. Alcazar offers to help her make Sonny jealous. She tells him he should go back to Florence, and find someone to love because he is lonely. He tells her she would only know that if she was lonely too. She tells him she is happily married and that she has no room in her life for him. She asks him to stop doing what he is doing or she will end up hating him. He hands her a jeweler's box. She opens it and finds a necklace inside. She hands it back to him and suggests he find someone else special to give it to someday. Alcazar tells her he got it for her. Jason shows up and asks what Alcazar wants. Alcazar makes a remark about how he tells her what to do and treats her with disrespect just like Sonny. Jason tells him to leave. Carly tells Jason that she did nothing with Alcazar and was just talking to him. Jason tells her he believes her that nothing happened but that Sonny won't understand. Carly cries and tells him that Sonny keeps pushing her away and that he is hurting her and she doesn't know how to stop him. Jason comforts her. He tells her that Sonny is just scared right now and that he will come around soon. He tells her he is still investigating this whole "Lily" thing and is getting close to figuring it all out. He tells her to be patient and wait Sonny out. She doesn't think she can wait much longer for Sonny. He takes her home.
Courtney finds Sonny alone at the penthouse. He asks her where Carly went. She tells him that she doesn't know where she is but that she was upset about him standing her up for dinner. Sonny takes off. He goes off to Alcazar's apartment to see him. Alcazar is there as well as Marcella, who tells Alcazar that she told Sonny that he is putting Carly in further danger by being near her but that she isn't sure if Sonny is buying it since she doesn't know what are in those letters by Lily. He tells her she did what he wanted her to do. Sonny knocks on the door after the bodyguards search him for weapons. Marcella hides in the other room. Sonny tells Alcazar that he is through with him playing mind games with him and that Faith is working with him and that Alcazar is a gambler like his father and that he has overplayed his hand this time and will pay. Alcazar tells Sonny that Carly met with him because of how he treats her and gloats about it. Sonny leaves. Marcella warns Alcazar that Sonny meant something when he said he overplayed his hand this time and worries that Sonny doesn't buy the scheme anymore. Alcazar tells her not to worry and Sonny will leave his wife and then will realize it when it is too late what he did and by then Carly will be with him.
Carly returns home with Jason and they learn from Courtney that Sonny was just there and wondered where she went and then took off himself again. Carly feels that she is again the villain but that it is o.k. for Sonny to abandon his wife and children. Jason asks her if Johnny was with her and took her to the park to meet Alcazar. She tells him he did but to not blame Johnny for allowing her to be alone with Alcazar since he has a soft spot and she took advantage. He doesn't care about that and asks her if Johnny was with her or if he took off. She tells him he left. He goes to take care of business. Sonny returns to the penthouse. Carly comes back from across the hall. He asks her where she went. She is honest with him and tells him that she was with Alcazar. He tells her he already knows that since he just saw Alcazar and he told him. Carly tells him nothing happened and that she just met with him. Sonny doesn't believe her and accuses her of doing something since she has already helped save Alcazar's life. Carly gets sarcastic with him and tells him that she was getting hot and heavy with Alcazar in a public park. Sonny loses his temper and breaks a glass against the bar in jealousy. Carly asks him if he really thinks she would do anything with Alcazar when she is close to nine months pregnant.
Michael comes downstairs and stands in front of Carly and tells Sonny to leave her alone and not to hurt her. Sonny instantly quiets down when he sees the look of fear in Michael's eyes. They sit down with him on the couch. Sonny reassures him that he would never hurt Carly with his hands. Michael asks them what they were fighting about. Carly explains that they got upset with each other and starting yelling but that they love each other. Michael agrees to go up to bed after Sonny tells him how proud he is of him for protecting his mother and that he should always do that. After Michael goes to bed, Carly returns to Sonny and tells him she doesn't ever want to fight like that again while Michael is around. Sonny agrees with her. Carly tells him she loves him but can't take much more of this and agrees to divorce him if he wants one. She goes to leave. Sonny grabs her arm and tells her to wait. Meanwhile, Jason goes to some alley near the warehouse and witnesses one of Alcazar's men hand Johnny, Sonny's bodyguard a package of money, thanking him for doing a good job for him. Jason waits until Alcazar's man leaves, and comes up behind Johnny while he is looking at the money. Jason confronts him about it. Johnny's face whitens when he sees Jason. Jason asks him why he betrayed Sonny and asks him if he was the one who let the woman in to Sonny's place to pretend to be Lily. Johnny gets really nervous and tries to explain that he needed the money because he got in too deep with gambling debts and didnt know what to do. Jason isn't interested in his excuses and demands to know what he knows about Alcazar's scheme against Sonny.
Sonny is certain that Alcazar is behind his "Lily" sightings. Carly leaves the penthouse and goes to the new the house that Sonny bought. She tours the house and then from the top of the stairs falls. Not knowing where Carly went, Sonny and Jason search for her. Meanwhile, Carly lies unconscious at the foot of the stairs. Ric questions Sonny about Carly's disappearance. After getting a lead, Jason and Sonny storm Alcazar's jetlooking for Carly but find Marcella instead. Carly drags her body across the floor of the new house. The front door opens and Courtney comes in and finds her on the floor. She helps her up and tells her she is going to take her to the hospital. Carly tells her it probably isn't safe for her to move anymore and that she hurts all over her body. Courtney stands with her and tries to get her to the door. Carly tells her that she is afraid to move right now and Courtney brings her over to the couch to lie down on. Courtney turns on a radio she finds and gets some blankets for Carly. The radio announcer informs them that the bridge is down and that many roads have been closed because of the storm. Carly tells her to leave and get help for her. She tells her that she can stay here and wait since her water hasn't broken yet. Courtney is afraid to leave her alone but reluctantly leaves to go get medical help and find Sonny.
Sonny and Jason escort Marcella into the penthouse. They question her about Alcazar's plans. She tells them that Alcazar hired her to pretend to be Lily's ghost so Sonny would focus on her and go crazy and that would give Alcazar a chance to get Carly for himself. She admits to all of it. She also tells them that Faith Rosco was also part of the scheme. Sonny tells Jason to go find Faith. Sonny talks to Marcella about Alcazar's scheme to get Carly by using the memory of his dead wife. Marcella tells him she is sorry for what she has done but she only did it for money and that she ended up not wanting to deceive him anymore. Sonny thanks her for telling him everything and agrees to keep her at a safe house for now. Sonny has Max take her there.(Note: The Marcella/Lily story wraps up very quickly, they find her on the plane, next scene is back at the penthouse, wraps up very quickly without much of a big confrontation so nothing is missing. I think the writers just decided to cut this storyline as it ends rather abruptly).
Alcazar shows up at Sonny's place and points a gun at Sonny. Sonny had tried to reach Carly on her cell phone but got a no signal response from the operator. Alcazar accuses Sonny of hurting Carly and hiding her somewhere as punishment for talking to him in the park. Sonny accuses Alcazar of taking her himself and lets him know he is on to his scheme with "Lily." Alcazar still points the gun on Sonny. Alcazar is startled by the thunder and lightening that cracks near the window where he is standing near. This gives Sonny a moment to get his gun from his jacket nearby and the two men are in a showdown with guns pointing at each other. Sonny dares him to make a move now. The lightening causes the power to go out at the moment and both shoot at each other. Sonny manages to get just a knick on his arm. Alcazar manages to take off before Sonny can go after him.
Jason gets a phone call on his cell-phone from Courtney, who is driving into the storm. She tells him she found Carly and tries to tell him where she is but the connection is bad and he can't hear what she is telling him. He hears Courtney scream and the sound of her car crashing into something and realizes she is in an accident. Carly panics when her water does break and she is all alone. She hopes that someone comes and helps her soon. Jason returns to the penthouse and notices the blood on Sonny's sleeve and asks him what happened. Sonny tells him he had a run-in with Alcazar and will explain later. Jason tells him about the call he got from Courtney on her cell-phone and how it sounded as if she was in a car accident. He doesn't know where Carly is since Courtney's phone was going out when she was about to tell him and he heard a car crash. Sonny calls his men to go find Alcazar. Meanwhile, Jason keeps trying to call Courtney on her cell-phone but gets no answer from her since she is laying unconscious on the ground. A dark figure comes over and grabs the phone and turns it off as he hears Jason asking frantically for Courtney to answer him. He leans down and checks Courtney's pulse. Alcazar shows up and leans down to wake Courtney up. Courtney starts to come to and says Carly's name. Alcazar tells her he needs to know where Carly is and if she is hurt. Courtney sees that it is Alcazar and tells him to go away. He tells her that he would never harm Carly and that he needs to help her if she is hurt. Courtney tells him where Carly is and that she is hurt. Alcazar tells Capelli to stay with Courtney. Capelli tells him he needs to call the paramedics and Jason to let them know about Courtney since he has to be a cop right now. Alcazar takes off. Capelli calls Jason after he calls for the paramedics. He tells him about her car accident and that he is near the bridge. Jason and Sonny head out. Capelli leans over Courtney and tells her he didn't hear what she said about Carly and realizes she is unconscious again.
Jason and Sonny arrive on the scene. They follow the ambulance back to GH. Monica checks on Courtney and tells Jason and Sonny to leave the room so she can examine her. Carly starts to lose it when her labor pains become closer together and curses the storm for delaying the arrival of Sonny. She is surprised to see Alcazar show up. Alcazar had walk after his tires got stuck in mud. He tells her that he is calling for a helicopter to pick them up and bring her to the hospital. She tells him there is no time to get her to the hospital and that her labor pains are 3 minutes apart now and she is going to have the baby here in the new house. Courtney wakes up and tells Jason and Sonny that Carly is at the new house and warns Sonny that Alcazar is probably already there with her. Sonny takes off. He and Jason also talk to Capelli, who lies and tells them that Courtney never told him anything about where Carly was.
Sonny drives through the storm to get to Carly and has to deal with police who try to stop him from going further in the storm. He explains that he needs to get to his wife, who is in labor and all alone. The cop agrees to get paramedics at the address as soon as possible. Jason talks to a MedEvac helicopter pilot to get him to Carly but the pilot tells him he has to get to people who are in more urgent need of care first but will do his best to get to Carly. Jason also deals with road blocks and ends up hitting a cop on duty and knocking him out when the man tries to stop Jason from going further. Alcazar tries to get Carly to let him get her out of the house and to the hospital. She tells him that she is in labor already and won't make it to the hospital and that he will have to help her deliver her baby. He agrees to help her. Carly tells him that she loves her husband and that Sonny didn't try to hurt her and that she came to the house on her own. She tells him that she loves Sonny and always will and that she knew when she married him what kind of man he was and what business he was in but didn't care. Alcazar tells her he knows she loves Sonny and that she wants to be with him but that he loves her too. She makes him promise to make sure that the baby gets to the hospital since he has a whole in his heart and needs medical attention. She tells him that she hemorrhaged when she was in labor for Michael and was unconscious when they did a c-section on her. She tells him that if he loves her he will make sure that the baby gets to the hospital even if it means she doesn't make it. Alcazar promises to do what she asked. She starts to feel pressure down below and feels that she needs to push now. Alcazar tells her she is bleeding but doesn't know how much but that he can see the baby's head. Sonny almost gets into an accident but manages to get there.
Sonny arrives at the front door and hears Carly scream. He goes inside and draws his gun out. He sees Alcazar and shoots him in the back. Alcazar drops to the floor. Sonny shoots a couple of times. He gets to Carly and sees that she is close to giving birth to their son. He tells her to keep pushing. Carly seems very weak and pale but she manages to push enough to for the baby to be born. Sonny takes the baby out and shows her their son is alive and okay. Carly looks at the baby and than turns her head and is unconscious. Sonny sees a bullet in the side of her head and realizes what he has done. Alcazar crawls out of the house with a gun shot wound and just lays there in the rain.
Wounded after Sonny shoots him, Alcazar stumbles his way out of Carly's new house and flees into the woods. Back at the house, an emotion-filled Sonny delivers his and Carly's son, Morgan. Jason arrives to learn that Sonny accidentally shot Carly, who is then rushed to GH. Marcella encounters a seriously hurt Alcazar in the forest, helps him back to the house and calls for an ambulance. Back at the hospital, Sonny is given the difficult choice of authorizing surgery Sonny gives the doctors permission to remove the bullet lodged in Carly's brain. Holding Morgan for the first time since the accident, Sonny breaks down in tears then is further devastated when Michael blasts him for hurting his mother. Realizing that Sonny is no state of mind to be taking care of Michael and Morgan, Courtney suggests that she and Jason step in as theirguardians until Carly is out of medical danger. Believing himself somewhat responsible for Carly's state, Alcazar refuses to press charges against Sonny. Sonny finds out that Carly not only is in a coma, but that she may have sustained permanent brain damage. Ric finds a way to stick it to Sonny and arrests him for attempted murder.
At the Port Charles Police Department, Sonny protests Ric's attempt to arrest him, but Ric points out that Sonny shot Alcazar in the back and they do not yet have a statement from Sonny's other victim, Carly! Scott arrives and announces that Sonny is released, but the charges are still pending. Sonny and Jason leave. At the Hospital, Courtney and Bobbie take Morgan to Carly's room and assure a comatose Carly that her baby is in fine shape and eager for Carly to join him at home. As Bobbie confides to Courtney that Bobbie believes Carly would be better off with any one else except Sonny, Lorenzo walks by and overhears Bobbie's comments. After Bobbie and Courtney leave, Lorenzo goes into Carly's room and assures Carly that she will soon be waking up to a wonderful life. After Lorenzo leaves, Carly dreams that she just arrived in town and met Lorenzo before Carly began her destructive plan to punish Bobbie for giving Carly up for adoption when Carly was born. (Note: Tamara does an AMAZING job of recreating Sarah's early version of Carly. For the history, refer to the Carly & Jaons tape #1 which covers Carly's arrival and how it really played out).
When Sonny returns to the Hospital to visit Carly, he is surprised to find Alcazar once again in Carly's room! Sonny accuses Lorenzo of trying to get Sonny in his debt by choosing not to press charges against Sonny for the shooting. But Lorenzo argues that Lorenzo is only taking responsibility for his actions and challenges Sonny to do the same. Alcazar declares that Carly was alone in the house and fell because Sonny drove Carly away! After Alcazar leaves, Sonny admits to his comatose wife that Alcazar is right and that Sonny made his own nightmare come true. Sonny promises Carly that she will have the life she always wanted, as soon as Carly comes out of her coma. Later, Tony shares with Sonny the information that Carly's tests show that there is brain activity, which is a good sign! Sonny returns home to his Penthouse. Holding his new son in his arms, Sonny promises Morgan that his mother will soon be home with them and that both Morgan and Carly will soon be safe!
Alcazar waits around hoping for Sonny to leave Carly's bedside so he can see her. Marcella tells him that Sonny probably won't leave Carly's side anytime soon and that Alcazar should go back to his room and rest. Alcazar refuses to rest until he sees Carly alone. Sonny sits by Carly's bedside. Carly continues to dream about what her life would have been like if she hadn't ever been involved with Sonny and married him. She dreams that she is working at Kelly's and is dating Alcazar, who is a history professor and not a drug and arms dealer. She has a friendly chat with "Lily" and meets Sonny as an objective observer. Lorenzo Alcazar shows up at Kelly's with flowers in her dream and tells her he got tenure at Port Charles University. She is very happy and tells "Lily" about her "new boyfriend" and that he is the most popular professor at PCU and that he now reached tenure which means they can never fire him. She had dinner with Alcazar in her dream at his new place and they make love afterwards. Tony keeps checking on her brain activity and informs Sonny that she is still showing some brain activity with her dreaming but is concerned about her still being in a coma. Sonny asks him if she will wake up soon. Tony tells him that the longer Carly remains unconscious the bigger the risk that she won't ever wake up.
Jason gets a call on his cellphone from Sammy Tagliati announcing that there is going to be a meeting of the five families later and that they would like Sonny to show up even though Carly is in the hospital. Jason thanks him for calling. He goes to the hospital to tell Sonny about the meeting. Sonny tells him he has no interest in doing business right now and that he can go in place of him tonight and do what he has to. Faith shows up at the hospital and asks Sonny and Jason about the meeting with the five families and what the agenda for the meeting is going to be. Jason and Sonny refuse to tell her anything and Sonny warns her to stay away from him and not to go near Carly's room ever again. Faith tells him she got the message and leaves. Jason gets to the meeting and explains to them that Sonny refuses to leave his wife's side right now and that he came to represent Sonny's interests. They tell him they are concerned about Sonny's rivalry with Alcazar and how the police and FBI are interested and that worries them.
Faith shows up without being invited. They tell her she isn't welcome there and has their men escort her out of thewarehouse. She is approached by some men outside. She nods her head at them as signal to follow her plan. They get their guns out and ready. They enter the warehouse and open fire on the leaders of the five families. Jason ducks down under the table when he sees them enter the warehouse. Sonny leaves Carly's side and heads over to the chapel to pray for her. He tells God Carly's life is in his hands now and that there is nothing he can do for her. He prays for her and lights some candles. Faith shows up at the chapel and sits behind Sonny. She tells him that the leaders of the five families are all dead including Jason and that now she runs the territories. Sonny doesn't respond. Jason gets shot and lays on the floor of the warehouse after getting a few shots in himself.
Alcazar visits Carly in her room when he sees that Sonny isn't there. He sits and holds her hands and asks her to wake up for her boys so she can raise and protect them. He also tells her he needs her and that he wants the chance to have a life with her if he can. Carly still dreams about Alcazar and then surprises him when she squeezes his hand.
Faith finds Sonny in the chapel. She tells him that she got rid of the leaders of the five families and even had Jason killed and that now she runs his territory too. Sonny gets up and warns her to watch it. Her two goons grab Sonny so he can't go after Faith. Faith tells him that he better start showing her more respect or he will be dead just like his enforcer, Jason. She threatens to make his family disappear if he doesn't agree to cooperate with her and work for her now. Sonny feels helpless to stop her right now and soon leaves the chapel. He tries to reach Jason but can't. He decides to use the phone at the nurses' station. He is about to call and find out about the shootings. He hears Jason's voice. He turns around. Jason explains that he was wearing his bullet-proof vest tonight and wasn't hurt. Sonny fills him in on Faith being behind the shooting. Alcazar comes out and tells the nurse that he thinks Carly is starting to come back from her coma. Sonny overhears him and he and Jason enquire about what he is doing in her hospital room.
Tony comes over and checks out Carly. He tells Sonny that she may or may not be dreaming and that when she squeezed Alcazar's hand, it was just a reflex. Tony takes Carly's hand and asks her to squeeze it if she can hear him. He gets no response. He warns them that Carly may have more brain damage than they think and won't know the extent of the damage to her brain until she wakes up, which she may never do. Sonny tells Jason that he needs to get rid of that "b*tch" meaning Faith now. Sonny tells Alcazar to stay away from his wife's room. Alcazar tells him that he would never hurt Carly and that he should be stopping him from being near her after what he did. Sonny takes off to deal with Faith. Jason returns home.
Faith shows up at the masquerade ball, dressed as Medusa. She stands on the terrace near the balcony and drinks. Sonny grabs her from behind. He puts a gun to her neck and tells her that she and her men messed things up and that she was overconfident. He tells her that she only managed to kill the leaders of the five families but failed to kill him or Jason, who he informs her is very much alive. Faith tells him that she never wanted Jason or him dead and was only trying to scare him. She offers to help him as a partner and run the territories while he stays with Carly and his children. Sonny can't shoot her and lets her go. He returns home and tells Jason that he couldn't shoot Faith when he had the perfect opportunity to do it. He tells Jason that he is out of the organization right now. Carly continues to dream about having a life with Alcazar and marrying him. A tear comes down her face after she dreams about marrying Alcazar.
Sonny tells Jason that he is giving up his business in hopes that it will keep his family safe. Sonny is at Carly's bedside, trying everything he can to get her to wake up. Alcazar lurks just outside the doorway, and after hearing Sonny giving Carly permission to buy anything she wants, he turns away in disgust. Sonny then gets Jason's call to come home. In Carly's happy dreamland, Carly surprises Alcazar with the news of her pregnancy. They ecstatically hug while Sonny lurks in the shadows of her dream. Sonny has arrived at the penthouse, and Courtney is making a solid case for taking the boys away to safety. Sonny puts up a little resistance by insisting he's getting out of the life, but Courtney points out that there's going to be a transition time and during that time, danger still comes with his territory. Ultimately, he comes to agree with her. Jason hits the roof and tries to convince Sonny that Courtney is merely panicking and that Carly would want him to hold the family together. Sonny points out that he can't do that right now because he's on the edge. Courtney tries to tell Jason that Carly would want her sons safe. Ultimately, Sonny asks Jason to abide by his decision and to help Courtney make the arrangements.
Alcazar has taken his place by Carly and bemoans the fact that he's in love with another man's wife. Little does he know that, in Carly's dreams, she's his wife and Sonny is about to come between them. Because in happy dreamland, Carly is now very pregnant and gets stuck in the hospital elevator with Sonny. Sonny's claustrophobia kicks in, and Carly distracts him by letting him feel her baby kick. The elevator gets unstuck and she walks right into Alcazar's waiting (and worried) arms. Alcazar reminds her that Sonny is not a safe man to be around, while Sonny lurks some more and tells Jason to put a 24/7 tail on Carly. He manfully states his intention to have her.
Sonny's back at Carly's bedside, and he's begging her to let him knows if he's doing the right thing sending the boys away for their safey. Courtney brings Michael and Morgan in so they can say good-bye. Michael sweetly kisses Carly and insists that Morgan be put in her arms. Courtney and the kids say their good-byes to Sonny. When Sonny returns to Carly's bedside, Carly dreams about running into Sonny at Jake's and playing pool with Sonny while Carly waits for her absent husband, Alcazar. Lorenzo makes a generous donation to the Hospital in exchange for Alcazar's doctor losing the paperwork, releasing Lorenzo from the Hospital. Later, Sonny calls Michael and Courtney with a report on Carly's condition and promises to call often. Bobbie demands to know where Sonny has taken her grandchildren, but Sonny will only assure Bobbie that the children are safe. Reminding Sonny that it was Sonny who fired the bullet that is lodged in her daughter's brain, Bobbie declares that she no longer trusts Sonny to raise the children alone. Bobbie warns Sonny that she will go after custody of Michael and Morgan herself if Carly does not recover from her bullet wound! While Sonny argues with Bobbie, Alcazar slips into Carly's room for a visit. When Lorenzo hears Sonny coming in the hall, Alcazar overhears Alan informing Sonny that Sonny needs to begin making arrangements for a long-term care facility for Carly. When Sonny returns to Carly's room, Alcazar suddenly appears and appeals to Sonny to keep Carly at the Hospital. When Sonny demands to know what Alcazar is doing in his wife's room again, Lorenzo insists that his visits are helping Carly. When Sonny scoffs at the notion, Lorenzo pointedly asks Sonny if Sonny would rather Carly wake up thanks to Alcazar or not wake up at all! Meanwhile, Carly dreams that Lorenzo arrives at Jake's and is angry when he finds Carly shooting pool with Sonny! Lorenzo reports that he was late picking his wife up because the tires on his car were slashed and his cell phone vanished probably all due to Sonny. Lorenzo warns Carly that Sonny is the same kind of criminal as Lorenzo's brother, Luis and that Carly needs to keep her distance from the mob boss!
Sonny orders Alcazar out of Carly's room. Carly dreams that she plays pool with Sonny at Jake's. Her husband Alcazar shows up at Jake's late to meet her and is angry to see her playing pool with Sonny. Later she dreams that she is home with Alcazar and overhears him put out a hit on Sonny. She dreams about being on the docks and stepping in front of Jason and Sonny when shots are fired at them. She later dreams that Alcazar confronts her about stepping in front of Sonny like that and how she could have gotten killed. She convinces him in her dream to stop the hit he had put out on Sonny using his family. In the dream he agrees to stop the hit after she reassures him she has no interest in Sonny. Sonny is dismayed when Tony comes in the room and informs him that for some reason Carly has been responding neurologically to Alcazar's visits to her room and that he should let him continue visiting her. Sonny tells Jason what Tony told him. Jason reminds Sonny that Tony has been wrong before since he was wrong about him when he was his patient after his accident. Sonny talks to Carly and tells her that he is going to do what he can to help her even if it means he will let Alcazar visit with her. Alcazar tells him that he isn't going to stop seeing her and that Sonny was the one who shot her not him.
Sonny shows up with his men at the Cellar to kick Faith out. Sonny tells her that the Cellar belongs to Carly and she is trespassing by being there. She holds up some deed and informs him that Ric wasn't thorough enough when he did his research and that the Cellar has a separate deed attached to it and that since her grandmother owned it now belongs to her. Sonny tells her it doesn't matter what she says he knows that the property belongs to Bobbie who rents it out to Carly. He tells her he will just buy the property from Bobbie and then he will make sure the building caves in on her "big hair." He leaves.
Alcazar visits Carly while Sonny is away from the room. Carly dreams about how Sonny finds away to get her alone with him and detain Alcazar from meeting her at the Cellar for dinner. He dances with her and kisses her. Carly also dreams that Alcazar warns Sonny to stay away from his wife. Sonny refuses to. In another dream, Carly goes into labor at the Cellar after dancing with Sonny and he pays to have the club open for just them to dance in. Sonny returns to find Alcazar in her room and that her heart rate increased suddenly. He asks him what he did to his wife. Carly continues to dream that she is in labor when Sonny helps her deliver her baby by Alcazar and Alcazar comes in to the club and shoots his gun at Sonny. Carly wakes up from her coma but doesn't speak. Sonny and Alcazar watch her open her eyes. Sonny tries to kick Alcazar out of her room but he doesn't move. Carly opens her eyes but Tony tells Sonny that is involuntary eye movement due to emotional stress. While Sonny talks to Carly she continues to have dreams about Alcazar shooting him and closes her eyes again much to Sonny's dismay. Alcazar still watches Carly from outside her room.
Jason watches Sonny sitting beside the comatose Carly. Alan urges Jason to help Sonny deal with the fact that Carly might remain in a vegetative state indefinitely. Alan asks Jason to help convince Sonny that Sonny needs to transfer Carly to a long-term care facility and get on with his life. When Jason finally gets a chance to speak to Sonny, Sonny refuses to even consider sending Carly to a long-term care facility. As Sonny and Jason argue, Carly dreams that she and Lorenzo reconcile and mend the rift caused by Sonny's death. Carly dreams that she and Lorenzo live happily to a ripe old age, and see their daughter off to college, while their younger son and daughter play happily in the living room.
As Bobbie, Jason, Alan and Sonny continue to discuss the prospect of sending Carly to a long-term care facility, Alcazar returns to Carly's room. As Carly dreams that she is an old woman, sitting beside her dying husband in the hospital, Lorenzo slips in to Carly's room and speaks to her. As he speaks, Carly suddenly wakes up and is thrilled when she sees Lorenzo standing beside her, alive and well! She tells him that she thought he was gone forever and that she is relieved he is alive. Alcazar is happy she is awake and puts his head down on her chest in relief. Sonny and Jason walk in and see Alcazar laying near her. Sonny realizes she is awake. Alcazar leaves the room. Jason tells her that she scared everyone to death when she didn't wake up right away. Jason goes to get a doctor. Sonny sits with her but she looks at him rather apprehensively. He tells her about how he came about accidentally shooting her when he came upon her screaming and Alcazar was right there and he thought he was hurting her and shot him. He tells her that she had their son and he helped deliver him and that he is alright and is staying out of town with Courtney. Carly listens to Sonny and touches his hair when he lays his head on her chest. She doesn't feel with it though and confides in Bobbie when they talk alone that she feels very detached from everyone around her. She tells her that she dreamed a lot when she was unconscious and that it felt like she had lived for 30 years in her dreams and notjust a minute like Bobbie thought she probably felt like. While Sonny is talking to Alan about how her medical condition Alcazar sneaks in to see her. Sonny comes back in the room when he sees Alcazar go in her room. He goes in the room and grabs Alcazar and tries to physically throw him out of her room. She asks him to stop and not hurt Alcazar and vise versa.
Carly gets a phone call from Sonny. She puts Michael on the phone to talk to Carly. Sonny gives her the phone. Carly picks it up and puts it to her ear but looks confused. Michael is all excited to talk to her and tells her that he missed her but will be coming home soon. Carly listens and pretends she is interested in what he is saying and puts on a fake smile. She also puts on a fake smile for Sonny when he mentions how happy he is that she is awake and how beautiful she is. Michael seems disturbed after talking on the phone to Carly and feels that something is wrong about her. Later, Alcazar goes in to see Carly while Sonny is out of the room. He tells her that her pulse spiked whenever he was in the room and the doctors told them that she was dreaming a lot based on her brain patterns. He guesses that she was dreaming about them a lot. She asks him how he knew and he tells her. He tells her that she must have felt his love for her when she was in the coma and that helped bring her back. He takes her hand to comfort her. Sonny talks to Bobbie about the kids and how they are coming home soon and that Carly needs her children with her right now. Bobbie agrees and is pleased that the kids are coming home.
Carly wakes up to find Alcazar sitting by her bedside. She seems disoriented about where she is. Alcazar tells her he won't leave her bedside. She tells him that he should leave since she is married. He tells her that he was the one she responded to when she was in a coma, not Sonny.She gets scared about his presence and asks him to leave and not to come back. He leaves. Jason suggests to Sonny that they wait on bringing the children to see Carly at the hospital because Carly is still pretty weak still and may not be up to a visit yet. Sonny disagrees as he watches the baby in the bassinet. Sonny thinks that Carly needs to see Morgan and Michael to help her recover faster. Jason tries to change his mind but realizes Sonny is adamant about the children visiting Carly and backs off. Courtney comes downstairs with Michael. Michael overhears Jason mention not bringing him over to see Carly right now. Michael protests to Sonny. Michael mentions how weird Carly sounded over the phone when he talked to her yesterday. Sonny reassures him that Carly can't wait to see him and Morgan.
Jason motions for Michael to come over and talk to him. Sonny and Courtney watch and beam over baby Morgan. Jason tries to explain to Michael about what Carly may be feeling right now, which is confused and disoriented. Michael starts to understand better but makes Carly a card and thinks that what she really needs is a big hug from him. They all go to G.H. to see Carly. Carly feels very detached from them. Michael gives her the card he made. She tries to act happy about it and hugs him but doesn't act like herself. Courtney brings the baby over to place on the bed next to her to hold him. Carly holds him but doesn't seem very comfortable holding Morgan and complains to them that her arm is very weak and she can't hold the baby right now. Jason watches Carly's reaction and becomes concerned. Sonny also notices her detachment from the children but pretends it is normal. Michael tries to stay longer with Carly but Jason and Sonny tell him that Carly needs her rest right now and they will come back tomorrow. They return to the penthouse.
Jason explains to Michael that Carly is still very weak and needs to get her strength back and that she was happy to see him. Michael suggests making her another card and leaves the room. Sonny talks to Jason about Carly. Jason gives him his opinion on Carly. He thinks that Carly seemed to be detached from everyone and that he is concerned that even though she didn't lose her memory she seemed to forget how she felt about her kids and them. Sonny talks to Carly later alone and explains to her his decision to leave the mob business and keep her safe like she should have done before but failed to do. Carly tells him that he shot her by accident and she doesn't blame him. Sonny tells her he loves her. Jason and Courtney talk about Carly. Courtney agrees with Jason that Carly acted differently than they expected when she saw the baby. Jason is concerned about what happened to her emotionally because of her head wound. He remembers how he felt when he saw Monica after he woke up from his coma years ago and how detached he felt about his feelings. Carly calls Alcazar after Sonny leaves. She tells him she was wrong about what she said to him before and asks him to come see her. He comes to see her and Carly admits that she doesn't know what to do about how she feels about him.
Carly admits to Alcazar that he
was in the dreams she had while she was in a coma. He admits to her that he sat
by her during this time. He then tells Carly that he is in love with her and
that whatever the dreams were he hopes they were beautiful. Jason advises Sonny
not to push Carly to feel things as he remembers what he felt like after he had
his brain injury. He warns Sonny that by pushing Carly to feel things for him he
may in turn be pushing her farther away. He tells him to let Carly get better in
her own time. Sonny visits Carly and brings her candy. Sonny brings up the
children and is disturbed over the bewildered look Carly gives him. She
apologizes, and he tells her it isn’t her fault that he is the one who shot
her in the head. She insists he not blame himself.
