At Sonny's penthouse, Carly
laughed in Sorel's face when he came on to her. She told him she would die
before she let him touch her. Sorel reminded her that once he had killed Sonny
and had total control, nothing and no one including her could stop him from
taking what he wanted. Sorel answered a knock at the door, and when he found
Alexis there, he forced her inside at gunpoint. He threatened to kill her unless
she told him where Sonny was. Much to Alexis's surprise, Carly threw herself in
front of Alexis and told Sorel to leave her alone. Sorel said, "Sonny has
one hour to respond and if he doesn't, one of you ladies will die". The
phone rang and Sorel told Carly to answer it while he pressed the gun to
Alexis's temple. Carly picked up the phone and Sonny was on the other end. Carly
hid the fact that Sonny was on the phone. When he asked her if Sorel was in the
Penthouse and told her to say yes or no, Carly pretended that it was Bobbie
trying to come over. Carly said, "No! Don't come around here anymore,"
and hung up. Sorel figured out that she was lying. He realized that Sonny had
been on the phone and she admitted that she had told Sonny to stay away.
Meanwhile, outside of the Penthouse, Zander crept around to the side doors and
did sneak in. However, when the door made a sound closing, Sorel spotted Zander
there. They struggled for control and Sorel ended up shooting the teen in the
chest. Carly tried to protect Zander by throwing herself on top of him. She
begged Sorel to take her and leave Zander and Alexis behind. Sorel had reached
his boiling point. He pointed the gun at Carly and told her that he was going to
make her pay for protecting Sonny. Just as he was about to pull the trigger,
Sonny called out to him from the doorway. Sonny nonchalantly asked Sorel what he
was there for.
Mike tracked Sonny down at the office and told him that Sorel was holding Carly hostage. Sonny pretended to not believe him and told him he didn't care. He told Mike to stay away from him and Carly. After Sonny left Mike steamed for a while then decided to confront his son again at the Lake House. First he called Alexis, unaware that she too was a hostage, and left her a message to call the police. After that, he banged on the door and yelled for Sonny to come out. Mike pounds on Angel's door and calls out to Sonny that Carly is in trouble and Sonny has to help her. Angel answers the door and tells Mike that Sonny never came back. Mike realizes that Sonny lied to him so that Sonny could take care of the problem alone. Mike wants to call the police, but Angel refuses to let him use her phone. She tells him that Sonny would not want the police involved and Mike should know that much about his own son. Later she does a Tarot reading and sees the death card. She sends up a prayer for the Lord to protect Sonny.
Sorrel orders Sonny to step inside and give up his gun. Sorrel's disbelief that Sonny is unarmed turns to shock when Sonny informs him that even though he doesn't have a gun he is wearing a bomb! Amid their arguing Sonny manages to convince Sorrel to let the others go. They rush to Alexis' apartment, where Alexis call for an ambulance. After settling Zander on the sofa, Carly rushes back to Sonny's side. Sonny orders her leave, when she refuses he tells her that if she wants to gain his trust back she will do as he says. Alexis pops in and escorts Carly back to the other penthouse. Sonny manages to convince Sorrel that he doesn't care if he dies. Sonny is tired of causing others pain and wants to be at peace. He tells Sorrel to choose his own fate. He can put the gun down, go back to prison, waste tax dollars on several years of appeals, then he'll have a painless death or Sonny can detonate the bomb and Sorrel can go straight to hell! While Sorrel ponders which death he prefers; Taggart arrives at Alexis' penthouse and asks what is going on. No sooner does Alexis inform him that Sonny and Sorrel are across the hall with a gun and a bomb than there is a loud explosion and the screen goes blank.
The radio narration sets the stage for the bomb explosion. We see Zander, Alexis, Carly, and Taggert lying unconscious amidst the rubble of the explosion. At GH Bobbie hears the news, Roy comes by as she is ready to dash and they leave together. She later tells him she approves of what he tried to help Carly do, and will also do the same, to keep Carly from Sonny. Taggert awakes but is not able to rouse the other victims. He stumbles toward Sonny's, and passes out in the hallway.
Melissa, Roy, and Bobbie make it upstairs. Angel listens on the island and makes it to the scene. Carly was staggering around at that point, and was looking for Sonny. Instead, she found Sorrel. He asked for her help. She told him she would let him die. Roy then came upon the scene and sent Carly away. Roy picked up a piece of cinderblock and held it above Sorrel's head. He whispered to Sorrel "you are lucky that Carly found you first and knows that you are alive. If it was me, you would not have been so lucky. At that moment, the paramedics arrived and found Roy over Sorrel with the cinderblock. After the paramedics took Sorrel and Zander away, Carly, Bobbie and Roy were still upstairs. Roy begged Carly to leave, but she was hysterical and wanted to find Sonny. She heard a faint beeping sound, and recognized it as Sonny's watch. She and Roy began frantically digging in the rubble for Sonny. After Carly finds Sorel, who grins while telling her that Sonny went "boom". Carly is angry and mom tries to pull her away. Downstairs, when Angel sees Sorel being wheeled out, and he ain't dead yet, she glares. (At this point the audience is still unaware of what her relationship is to Sorel).
Sonny stumbles in alive, much to Carly's relief. Carly tries to get Sonny to realize what it was like for her with him gone, her fear that AJ would take Michael away, etc. Sonny notices she has a bruise on her face and wonders what Sorel did to her. Carly says it doesn't matter. She says to him, all that matters is that we are together. All she wants in life is to be with him. He gives her his jacket and they embrace. He tells her that he doesn't want to keep hurting her. Carly tried never endingly to get Sonny to take her back but he wouldn't. They were beginning to leave the PH and Carly passed out. Sonny carried Carly down and rode with her in an ambulance to the hospital. When she woke up her mother explained that Sonny had left even though he heard her calling for him. Carly said no matter what she will always love Sonny and he will always love her.
Alexis kept watch at Zander's bedside through everything and was angry when she heard Sorrel was on the same floor as Zander but there was nothing she could do about it except stay by his side. Sonny came and visited and he and Alexis complemented Zander on how brave he is and a hero. Sonny told him he needs to start thinking before acting though and apologized for staying in hiding for so long. When he left the room he walked towards Sorrel and saw Angel by his side.
Carly visits Zander, she apologies for always treating him badly and thanks him for trying to save her in spite of her behavior towards him. On her way out of Zander's room, she realizes that Sorrel is in the room across the hall. She tries to enter and is stopped by a police guard and Tony. She gets hysterical and yells that Tony only saved Sorrel because he wants Sorrel to kill Sonny. Tony threatens to call security if Carly does not calm down. Outside AJ arrives in time to stop Tony from calling security, and tries to calm Carly. She is suspicious, especially when he tells her that he has changed his mind and is no longer suing for custody. He tells her that if she had died, he would not know where to find Michael and has realized that Michael's safety and happiness are most important. Carly demands to know what he wants. AJ tells her that since she and Sonny are over, maybe they can come to an agreement over sharing Michael. Carly starts to yell at him that she and Sonny are not over. Skye arrives and with a few words sends AJ running. Carly asks if she is AJ's new woman. Skye tells her that she is the newest Q. She reveals that she and AJ don't get along and would be glad to help Carly to get back at AJ.
Angel holds the guardian angel figurine and is lost in deep thoughts. Sonny arrives and they talk about how their time together is over. Sonny lets Angel know he saw her at Sorrel's side at the hospital. She gives a non-explanation. She knew him before the lust for power changed him in to what he is now and just wanted to see if that man was still there. She comments that she knew (deep down) he would return to Carly. Sonny responds he is not returning to Carly, but to his business. She lets Sonny know that she knows he is not like Sorrel and he is welcome back if he ever needs a place to hide out, or even if he doesn't.
Carly and Sonny are both at the police station, Dara questioning Carly, while Taggert grills Sonny. Taggert says he is charging Sonny with the attempted murder of Joseph Sorel. Carly is in her usual “defense of Sonny” mode, telling the cops they have no right to harass her husband. She says Sorel threatened to kill her. Dara convinces Taggert to let Sonny go. Sonny leaves without even a word to Carly. Sonny arrives at GH and chats with the guard outside Sorel’s room, then goes inside and closes the blinds.
Bobbie tried to convince Carly that Sonny wasn't good for her because of the whole mob life stuff. Mike started helping her but they didn't get through. Carly started talking about her and Sonny's first baby that died, it suddenly seems to dawn on her that she has missed her period. She checks her date book and runs out of the brownstone.
Sonny went to try and kill Sorel he threatened him and when he was about to pull the plug when Angel showed up and pushed the call button. Sonny offered to take her out to dinner but she turned him down. Carly goes into Sonny's office and tells him that she is pregnant. Sonny is upset at the thought of all the baby and Carly has been through. He tells Carly that even if the baby where to be born it doesn't have a prayer because nothing has changed. Not him, not her, not his lifestyle, or the danger. Carly tires to be optimistic about the change her pregnancy will have on their marriage, now Sonny can forgive her. Sonny lets her in on two things he learned as a child. From Mike and Deke, he learned that apologies are lies and therefore meaningless. From his mother he learned that forgiveness is permission to hurt you again. Carly starts to see that her news is not effecting Sonny the way she hoped and lets it slip that she only thinks she is pregnant. Sonny accuses her of trying to manipulate him with lies, again and orders her to get pregnancy test done. Carly returns to the brownstone and tells Bobbie about how happy Sonny is and how this fixes everything between her and Sonny. She pulls a small stuffed bear and a pregnancy test from her bag. Carly is on the phone with Michael, telling him she has great news for him when she sees him again. She decides to put off taking the pregnancy test because she just knows she is pregnant. Then, she dozes and daydreams of the future back with Sonny and with the new baby.
Angel arrives at Sonny's office, with dinner in hand (complete with tablecloth and candles). She has changed her mind and now wants to take Sonny up on his earlier offer of dinner. Angel brings Sonny an impromptu picnic dinner and can tell that something is bothering Sonny. He won't tell her what it is. But, Mike appears, interrupts and tells Angel that Carly is pregnant. Mike is overjoyed and tells Sonny this is the answer to his problems, but Sonny tells Mike to get lost. With Mike gone, Angel and Sonny discuss what this baby could mean. They talk about betrayal.
Carly has still not taken the pregnancy test and Sonny makes her promise to take it tonight. Sonny lets on that he would love to have a child, but is still very reserved until he knows for sure. Later Alexis asks him to help her steal back her mother's necklace, and Sonny refuses because there is too much at risk, like her license. After getting very emotional about her mother, Sonny and Alexis share a moment where they both understand one another. They share a hug, and Ned sees the whole thing and leaves without letting his presence known.
Carly is getting ready for Bobbie's birthday party when Sky walks in. Carly immediately gets suspicious of her because she is a Quartermaine, and Sky says that she thought that Carly might want to know what AJ is planning. Carly says that AJ cannot touch her because she is pregnant and she is getting back with her husband. AJ does not like the news.
Carly got a negative result on the home pregnancy test. She still thinks she is pregnant. So she made an appointment with a doctor to get another test. While she is there, she ran in Angel. Carly excused herself again for the time on the Island, as she is doing that, Sony walks in on them. Earlier, Angel went to Sony's penthouse and basically offered herself to him if Carly is not pregnant. Then, one of Sorel's high ranking guys came to offer his services to Sonny. Sonny asked him about Angel's late husband.
Carly introduces Angel & Sonny, who act as if they don't know each other. Sonny pulls Carly aside and asks what Angel was saying to her. Carly wonders why Sonny is over reacting, but he distracts her by asking about the home pregnancy test. Carly evades answering by saying they are not always accurate, plus she needs to get prenatal vitamins anyway, so she is just going to get the test done by a OB-GYN. Carly goes off to get the PG test. Sonny stops Angel from leaving by demanding to know why she was talking to Carly. Angel defends herself; she was just going to visit someone and Carly stopped her. Angel also adds, "Congratulations, Carly just told me she is pregnant". Liz arrives and asks Sonny for help. Sonny tells her he can't get involved in Spencer business. Liz pleads with him, but Sonny will not disrespect Luke's wishes. Shaken, Liz leaves but tells Sonny to let her know if he changes his mind. Meanwhile Carly gets unexpected news from Dr. Meadows. Both the pelvic exam and the blood test are negative. She is not pregnant! A nearly hysterical Carly runs from the room wondering what she is going to tell Sonny, whom she finds gazing longingly at the babies through the nursery window. When he realizes she is there he asks her about the test results. Carly evades Sonny’s question about whether she’s pregnant by saying she’s still waiting for the results. She says she hopes he won’t be disappointed if they have a baby girl, and she goes on to envision their happy family life - she and Sonny and Michael and a little girl. Then Bobbie arrives and spills the beans that Carly is not pregnant (she got that out of colleague Dr. Meadows). Carly insists she would have told Sonny the truth; she just didn’t know how after seeing his face when he was looking at the newborn babies. A furious Sonny leaves. Carly turns on Bobbie, screaming that she hates her. Bobbie tries to calm her down, but Carly lists all of Mommy’s bad traits and says that Bobbie can’t keep a man in her life so she doesn’t want her daughter to have one. Bobbie says she loves her; Carly answers back with she no longer has a mother.
Angel visits Sorrel, who opens his eyes and sees her. He points at a pen and notebook, which Angel hands him. Sorrel writes down something and shows it to her. There is only one word on the sheet of paper… TRAITOR! Angel is angry, not scared. She says she loved him but then he killed her husband. She says he won’t get Sonny, but she will try to. She says she wants to end up with the man that Sorel hates most. She tells Sorel that she was the one who saved Sonny’s life after he left him bleeding in the cemetery. She says she burned the wedding pictures that had Sorel in them. Angel says she is ready to love again and she owes that to Sonny. Her parting words are that she hopes Sorel sees all his friends again soon - in Hell! She storms out to find Sonny in the corridor. Angel tells him her connection with Sorel is broken; she told him she wants Sonny. Before Sonny can digest this bit of news, Carly arrives on the scene. Carly begs Sonny again to forgive her, he refuses. Carly pitched a fit, ran into Sorel's room and pulled the plug; all in an effort to demonstrate how much she loved Sonny. Angel, told Tony that she tripped over the plug. Carly and Sonny argue again. Carly runs to the elevators where she invites herself to stay with Angel. Angel agreed but told Carly that she could only stay one night. Bobbie had a heart-to-heart with Sonny and told him that the only way to rid himself of Carly is to forgive her. Skye gets a cell phone call—from Carly!!
Mike has been asked to Sonny's office who then tells him that Carly lied to him, again, and there is no baby. We are through, Sonny insists. Mike tries to plead Carly’s case to Sonny, but he isn’t interested. Mike reminds Sonny that he isn’t perfect either. He also tells him that he doesn’t even know that much about this Angel woman, if that is the reason he is through with Carly.
Carly, asleep on the couch, dreams of Sonny coming for her. When she awakens, she tells Angel how weird it is that her name is Angel, because she gave Sonny a guardian angel trinket. Angel realizes that trinket is sitting out in obvious display and carefully averts Carly’s attention and grabs it. The two women talk a bit, to get to know each other. Carly tells Angel she and Sonny are city folk and would never enjoy the lake cabin. Angel admits that her husband died and she just recently met someone new, but it’s complicated. Carly encourages her to go for it. When Carly goes into the bedroom to “freshen up,” Sonny sees himself in to talk to Angel. She tells him to get lost, that Carly is there. He goes to hide on the porch until Carly leaves. When he comes back inside, he demands to know what Angel is up to. She is demure; Sonny shouts that he knows who she is!!
At Carly’s hotel room Skye arrives and Carly tells her she does want her help in keeping Michael away from AJ. But, can she trust Skye? Carly talks with Skye in her hotel room. She starts to become suspicious of Skye and decides that the entire idea was a mistake. She tells her that the only person she can count on to protect her and Michael is Sonny. Carly continued telling Skye that when something was too good to be true, then it usually is. She said goodbye and showed Skye the door. Skye begs Carly to hold onto her son with both hands and never let the Quartermaines take him. Carly has a sudden change of heart and asks Skye about her adoption. Skye spouted out her usually poor me act and told her that the Quartermaine's must pay for what they did, especially AJ. Carly tells Skye that she should just walk away from the Quartermaines and that she could handle AJ all by herself. Skye tells her to contact her if she changes her mind. Just then AJ busted through both of them and started threatening a lawsuit if Carly didn't bring Michael home. Skye got right in his face and said that she would testify against him and that he doesn't have a prayer. They throw insults back and forth until Carly kicks him out and thanks Skye for helping. As Skye leaves she promises Carly that she will be in touch. As Skye walks down the hall AJ tackles her and congratulates her on what a great team they make.
Sonny tells Angel that he knows that Sorel is her father and that he believes that she's been working some angle the entire time. He asks her why she was conveniently in the graveyard on the night her father tried to kill him. She says that she thinks that it was fate. She was visiting her mother's grave and saw her father attack him. She said that he would have died and that she saved him on impulse. Sonny continues to grill Angel for information. She tells him that she used to love her father, she worshiped him. As she grew older she began to understand his business and discovered the price it cost. She told Sonny that she didn't want Sorel to get him too. Sonny asked her if it was because she cared. He told her that you are still being dishonest by keeping quiet. He asked her why Carly was there the night before and why she hadn't been honest with her. Angel said that Carly had been devastated and that she wanted to stop her from doing something crazy. She also did not deny that she wanted to know more about the woman that Sonny would marry. Sonny tells her that Carly is always sorry for the things she does but lies are all she knows. Sonny tells Angel that he understands what Carly does. Angel replies that understanding is not forgiveness and asks if he has forgiven his wife. Sonny starts towards the door but Angel stops him. She tells him that if she has to choose between him and her father, she chooses him. Sonny walks out and Angel's face falls.
Carly arrives at the Brownstone and Bobbie gives her a threatening note that she received in the mail. The note, addressed to Carly, threatens she and Michael. Carly takes the note to Sonny. Sonny tells Carly that he will handle the situation. He says that if she really wants to help she should go and be with Michael. A.J., who is eavesdropping outside the door, learns that Sorel has threatened Michael.
Alan visits Zander and gives him the news. Upon leaving Zander's room, Alan runs into Sonny. Alan accuses Sonny of trying to use Zander to finish Sorel off. Sonny informs Alan that he wants nothing more than to keep Emily and Zander safe. In fact, Sonny says, it was one of his men who threw the intruder out of the window.
Melissa sedates Sorel's hit man to prevent him from reporting that his mission was unsuccessful. Afterwards, Melissa shows a rattled Carly the photo of Michael which the goon was carrying. In the ICU, Sonny prevents Zander from polishing Sorel off and quietly reminds the boy never to get his own hands dirty. Angel bitterly explains to Roy how her attempt to reconcile with her estranged father went badly awry. Standing over Sorel, Alan hisses an ominous warning to his helpless patient. Alexis asks Jax if he's come back to reclaim Chloe. Sonny finds himself confiding in Zander as he makes plans to end Sorel's reign of terror. Meanwhile, Carly tells Mike she'll see Sorel in his grave before she'll let him touch a single hair on her son's head. As she turns off Sorel's respirator, Melissa whispers to the gasping man how much she hates him for killing her beloved brother. Monica interrupts, however, and takes her own turn at telling Sorel why she'd love to see him rot in hell. Later, a horde of Sorel's enemies converge on the hospital but only one reaches him first.
Has Agatha Christie finally come to GENERAL HOSPITAL? It looks as if all principal characters and, of course, some minor ones may have killed Joseph Sorel. There is a crime scene with a multiplicity of grateful, relieved suspects. Tony, a dedicated doctor, finds Sorel dead and knows that foul play has occurred. His life support, EKG, or whatever has been unplugged. Alan says " Call the morgue and get rid of him." Yet, the dedicated physician Tony insists that they must call Taggert. Taggert questions Zander and others, and states that he wants the names of all who have entered Sorel's room over night. The suspects' list will probably start with Sonny.
Melissa sobs as she prays for God's forgiveness in the hospital chapel. Did Melissa's interference with the support system lead to Sorel's demise? Did Alan forget his oath as a healer so he could get the guy who hurt "his Emily?" He tells Zander "No one died here last night." "A killer was exterminated." Sonny also shows up to warn AJ and the sly Skye to stay away from Carly. Carly needs Sonny, but he remains aloof and argumentative. Carly is very unhappy to learn that Angel is Sorel's daughter. She lambasts Angel and tells her that she is trash.
Sonny calls in the favor Jax owes him for helping to get Jerry out of the country. He wants to know if Jax found Brenda. Jax tells Sonny only "Brenda is gone". Sonny and Jax continue to insult and taunt each other until Ned arrives, and demands to know about Brenda. Again Jax will only say, "Brenda is gone". Before Sonny leaves he warns Jax 'Never break anything I care about again'. Afterwards Ned demands the "real" story, but Jax denies finding Brenda. They talk about what's new with the Q's and Cassidines. Ned confides in Jax about breakup with Alexis. He also tells Jax about the necklace. Ned explains that it might have something to do with suppressed memories of her childhood. Ned asks Jax to speak with Alexis, as she no longer confides in him. Jax says he will speak to Alexis, but he must go see someone first.
An angry Carly barges her way into Sorrel's room to insult Angel and accuse her of being her father's accomplice. Roy and Melissa arrive just in time to hear Carly blurs out, "Who ever pulled the plug should get a parade." Taggart immediately wonders how Carly knew the plug had been pulled. Carly explains to Taggart and Tony that it was "just an expression." She continues her tirade against Angel until Roy and Melissa finally take her away. Alone with Tony, Taggart pumps him for information and comes up with his first clue: although almost anyone could have jammed the alarm, and pulled the plug on the respirator, it would have taken someone with medical know-how to rig the EKG to the pulse simulator.
Roy and Melissa try to calm Carly in the hospital chapel, but she wants only to warn Sonny that Angel is Sorrel's daughter, and therefore a threat to him. Roy explains that he knows a little about Angel and doesn't believe she is a threat. He tells her Angel hated her father because Sorrel killed her husband and advises her to back off. Carly refuses to believe Angel is not a threat and runs off to warn Sonny. On her way out, Tony, who questions her about Bobbie's whereabouts, stops her. An impatient Carly tells him she doesn't have time for this now and explains about the threatening letter.
Angel arrives at Sonny's office and tells Sonny about her father's death, but doesn't wonder why he already knows. She breaks down, cries and throws her arms around him. Afterwards, she tells him about the final conversation she had with her father, and shares some childhood memories. She confesses that she hated him and is glad he is dead and that Sonny is safe. Before she leaves, Angel tells Sonny that Carly knows who is really is. After Angel leaves, Sonny pours himself a brandy and makes a toast to his dear-departed enemy "Quemate en el Infierno con El Diablo" which translates to" Burn in hell with the devil". Later Carly arrives with the news about Sorrel's death and her warning about Angel. Sonny tells her Angel is no danger to him. Alone in the hospital chapel, Melissa realizes one of the pictures she took from the hit man is missing! Carly questions how Sonny knows Angel will not hurt him!
In Sorrel's hospital room, now the scene of a murder investigation, PCPD's finest, find a clue under the bed, a picture. Taggart asks Tony if the person in the picture is who he thinks it is… Tony looks at it and agrees…it's a picture of Carly's son, Michael!
At her house, Angel is going through some mementos, when there is a knock the door. She greets her visitor with a big smile! He Angel it's good to see you again", and they hug. It's Jax! Jax & Angel hug, happy to see each other. Apparently, they knew each other in Monaco at some point. He teases her about living out in the woods. She asks him about some mysterious, unnamed person. He says she is trying to decide what to do. Boxes are everywhere and he asks her if she is moving. Angel asks if he watched the news, that her father's been killed. He hugs her and offers to take care of the funeral arrangements and such. He also sets off on a diatribe about men in her father's world and the way they treat women. Angel admits that she wants her father's killer to get away with it.
At Sonny's office... Carly is spastic about Angel and how she put Sonny in danger by introducing them and she had no idea it was Sorel's daughter. Sonny explains that he already knew who Angel was. Carly thinks Sonny had Angel checked out because he still cares about her, she says it is a sign they can get back together. Sonny nips that in the bud by telling Carly exactly when and how he met Angel and how she saved his life. Sonny told Carly that he was with Angel the entire time he was missing. Carly was infuriated. Carly called Angel names and left. Angel kept seeing the ghost of Sorel, which propelled her to the police station to claim the body. She overheard Taggert and newly recommissioned Commissioner Scorpio saying they were going to get Sonny. She then called Sonny to warn him.
Mac and Taggert showed up at Sonny's warehouse and began questioning him about his whereabouts on the night of Sorel's murder. Carly calls Angel a smarmy little two faced tramp. Angel says she has no desire to speak with Carly, she is so far off base with her rant in the hospital. Carly says that she thought she was trying to kill Sonny, but Sonny told her where he was... he told her he had been hiding out here, and all the time she was trying to take away her husband. Taggert and Mac want to know where Sonny was earlier, the last time he saw Sorel alive. They say that they can drag him down to the precinct. Sonny says he isn't going to answer any questions without his attorney present and she's unavailable. Alexis enters and wants them to stop harassing her client. Alexis wants to know what Mac is doing... he says he is back as police commissioner. She wants to know what the charges are, they tell her there aren't any yet. She says that they are done then. Alexis tells Sonny she has no desire to know if he had anything to do with Sorel's murder, but she wants to know what she is up against. Sonny thought she wasn't his attorney. She says she is ready to resume the job, if he wants. He says no. Alexis says, you're turning me down? Sonny says that she seems disappointed. Alexis says that she has come to understand that sometimes he might not have another choice when you deal with people like Sorel and Helena. Sonny wants to know if it is an apology. Alexis says it is an explanation. Sonny says he respects her... his lifestyle doesn't fit her standards. He would rather get another lawyer so they don't run into walls like they did during the Sorel case... rather than lose her as a friend.
Carly walks past Angel into her house. Angel tells her to get out. Carly can't believe she sat here and poured her heart out to her. Angel says she's not welcome, her father just died. Carly wants to know if she got a good laugh, did she think she would roll over and let her take her husband away. Angel says no. She knows that Carly can't read a pregnancy test she wants to know if she is capable of anything. She wasn't trailing Carly... she never even knew about Sonny until she found him in the cemetery. Carly says that she handled her father, she can handle her too. Angel wants to know what she did. Carly says that she survived her father. Angel says that she also walked into his room in front of Sonny and her and pulled his respirator. Did she go back and finish the job? I'm not on a respirator Angel says... and I'm not afraid of you. Carly spots the Angel and picks it up. She stalks over to Angel and tells her that she should be, you twisted little slut. Carly says that she gave the angel to Sonny, it is personal to them. Angel says it means nothing. Carly says she stole it just like she was trying to steal her husband. She was playing the little nurse role out her in white, did she forget to change when Sonny left? Angel says if it wasn't for her, Sonny would be dead... it is Carly's fault. Right, Carly says, your father tried to blow my family up and I tried to save things and it is my fault. I suppose it is my fault that your father tried to kill Sonny too. She's leaving out the details, but that's something she likes to do... “nursey”. Carly says that Angel told her she was involved with a complicated man.... Angel says that Carly said that complications don't matter. Carly says that things are about to get even more complicated. Carly throws the angel across the room. Angel says that she smashed her marriage to bits, Sonny could have left anytime he wanted too. When she asked him if he wanted to leave, if he wanted her to call anyone, his wife, he said his wife was dead. Carly says that Sonny gets angry and she does too, but they love each other, they have a bond. Angel says that any bond they have, she broke when she betrayed him. Sonny has a code, and she understands and respect him, that is why they have a special relationship. How special, Carly questions? You couldn't get him into bed no matter how hard you tried. And Sonny does respect loyalty, but you couldn't be loyal to your father... and Sonny knows that, before long you would betray him too. She tells Angel that she is a liar, tramp and cheap as dirt and there is no way she will let her wreck her life... then she leaves.
Alexis says that she knows Sonny values his friends, but she would prefer to be his attorney right now to distract her from her own family. She goes on about Sonny and his job. Sonny tells her to breath, asks her if she would like water. When she finishes, he says that he might possibly have an attorney if she can ever learn to breathe. Sonny asks if Alexis feels better. She says this is why she needs to represent him, because he offers her water. Sonny says if she really wants to be his lawyer, she can. He leaves, says he has someplace he has to be.
Taggert and Mac are talking about getting a warrant to search everything of Sonny's. Carly walks in and says she is here to report a crime, Angel Sorel Ellis needs to be arrested. Angel picks up the angel and looks at it. She hears a noise and turns towards the door... it's Sonny.
Carly demands that the police arrest Angel because she was in on her daddy Sorrel kidnapping her. Mac leaves Taggert to deal with Carly. Carly tells Taggert that Sorrel knifed Sonny, then Angel kept Sonny at her house, while her father took Carly captive. Taggert points out that she has no case and no evidence; isn’t this just a domestic dispute? ADA Dara comes in; Taggert takes her aside and fills her in. He says that Angel was very cold about her father’s death and he’d like to use Carly’s complaint as an excuse to question Angel. Later, Carly signs the complaint against Angel.
Angel tells Sonny about Carly’s little visit and complains about her temper. She says it’s no secret that she has feelings about him, but she’s certainly not out to steal another woman’s husband. Carly’s not stupid, she says; she knows how I feel. Angel wants to know what Sonny’s going to do about Carly. He says he can’t forgive betrayal. Angel says it’s not easy to give up on love, and it’s obvious he still loves Carly. Sonny doesn’t answer. Angel says “I wish that you would say something.” He says he won’t deny he still loves Carly but he can’t trust her; he can’t trust anybody. Angel says she understands that life. She ran away from her father after he killed her husband because she still loved him and didn’t want to. She said her love for her father died when he hurt Sonny and she has him to thank for freeing her. She pointed out that she knows mob life and gave the “man in charge” a break when she let him stay with her. She said if he needs another break, he’s more than welcome. She wants to help him find peace .. Sonny doesn’t promise anything. Then Taggert shows up . Taggart tells Angel and Sonny about Carly's accusation. Angel finds Carly's statement so ridiculous that it makes her laugh. Taggart makes snide remarks and starts to ask very personal questions. Sonny tries to protect Angel by pointing out that the warrant does not allow him to ask about personal feeling. Taggart goes through some of the boxes and finds two tickets to Greece with the same date Sorrel kidnapped Carly. He speculates about Sonny and Angel. Sonny very reasonably points out the obvious - the tickets were never used. Never-the-less Taggart feels he should bring Angel downtown for questioning. Sonny tells her not to answer any more questions without HIS attorney being present.
AT THE PCPD: Mac and Dara point out to Carly the ramifications of signing a false statement; it is perjury. Mac tells her if she lied, she will be prosecuted, and perjury carries a sentence of up to two years. Mike arrives in response to Carly's call and tries to convince her to retract her statement. He warns her that Sonny will be very upset that Carly has involved the police in his business again. He tells her to change her mind before Sonny finds out and her plan backfires. Realizing this could drive Sonny further away, Carly looks for Mac, so she can take back her statement.
Alexis agrees to represent Angel. Sonny asks her to just make it disappear. Alexis asks Angel some questions about her actions, etc. Meanwhile, Taggert has questions of his own for Sonny. Carly admits to Mike that she was going to retract her statement, until Angel & Sonny showed up at the police station together. That made her bitter; she is not fond of the "lady in white" at all and wants to see her pay. Mac asks to question Carly, telling her things in her statement "don't add up." While questioning Carly, it becomes clear that Angel could be a suspect in Sorel's death and Carly agrees. She is excited about this prospect and tells Mike she may not have to do anything herself to get rid of Angel. Sonny comes in to the questioning room and tells her to leave, but Carly starts yelling at him, whining about all she did for him, what she did to Sorel. Taggert and Mac are listening in all the while and are interested to hear what exactly she did to Sorel! Sonny covers her mouth before she can blurt anything out, though.
Carly engaged Sonny in a game of cat and mouse. First, she made him believe that she was going to confess to Sorel's murder, then she put a show on for Mac and Taggert (who had been "secretly " watching from the viewing room). Angel gave Alexis plenty of attitude. When Alexis tired of her she found Taggert and Mac in the viewing room. She then proceeded to read them the riot act.
Sonny visits Alexis in her apartment and informs her that he wants to divorce Carly. Alexis says she has a problem writing his divorce papers because she knows he still loves Carly. She questions his motives for the divorce and wants to know if they have anything to do with Angel. While arguing over Angel, Alexis blasts Sonny for hiding out at Angel's home and not informing anyone of his whereabouts. Sonny apologizes for causing her to worry. Alexis says she wants to be his friend, but she wants him to trust her. She not allow herself to be treated the way he treats Carly. She again asks him to explain his relationship with Angel. Sonny replies that he is handling the situation. Alexis gives in and says that she will write up divorce papers for Sonny. An angry Alan arrives at Alexis' apartment and demands to speak to Sonny. He tells Sonny to stay away from his children. Sonny tells Alan that Michael belongs with his mother and that if the family wants to see Michael, they'll have to go through Carly. After Alan leaves Sonny tells Alexis to keep A.J. away from Michael no matter what.
Mike visits Carly at her hotel room. When he arrives, he finds her bags packed. Carly informs Mike she has bought a house and is moving there. She has no intention of leaving Port Charles and is not going to give up on getting Sonny back she tells Mike. While Carly is moving the last of her things out of the hotel, she runs into Jax. They exchange words. Carly warns him to stay away from Sonny. Mike follows Carly to her new home. He says that this is the kind of house that Sonny dreamed of when he was a little boy. Michael returns to Port Charles and runs into Carly's arms.
Jax arrives at Angel's home. He
shows her a newspaper article about her late father. She tells Jax she is upset
that the PCPD won't release her father for burial. Jax comforts her. Angel feels
that it must be hard for Jax to return to Port Charles with all that happened to
him here in the past. He says that if it weren't for Christina he wouldn't have.
After Jax leaves Angel's, Taggert shows up. He tells her that her father can be
claimed for burial. Taggert questions Angel as to whether her father knew about
her relationship with Sonny. Angel becomes agitated and tells Taggert to mind
his own business. A.J. appears at P.C.P.D. to see Mac. He says he knows who
killed Sorel and has the evidence to back it up…Carly.
