Jean-Luc Picard is the strong, wise, stern Captain of the U.S.S. ENTERPRICE NCC-1701-D. His role in participating in Alpha Quadrant history is almost larger than Captain Kirk's was. Having numerous first contacts with various alien speicies, mediating the civil war situation in the Klingon Empire, to defending off the Borg Captain Picard is no doubt, the go to guy in Starfleet. Born in France, July 13, 2305, Picard was dead set on a Starfleet career at a young age. He failed on his first Academy enterance tests, but made it in on the second try. His first command was the U.S.S. Stargazer begining in 2333. He became it's Captain after his Captain was killed in battle. In 2355 he was forced to abandon the U.S.S. Stargazer after a run in with the Ferengi which turns out to have been first contact with the race. Also during this incident, the infamous Picard manuver was born. After being cleared of any wrong doing in the Stargazer's abandonment, Picard was given command of the U.S.S ENTERPIRSE. Most noteable event was Picard's assimilation by the Borg in 2366 in which his knoweldge was used to destroy many lives and ships of the Federation Fleet. Forunately he was rescued, and returned to normal. Picard enjoys Music, literature and archeology, among other things. |
