“There are times, Chakotay,” she muttered, trailing behind her first officer and their host. “When I don’t know why I ever fell in love with you.”
Glancing up she saw him hesitate, then quietly excuse himself and double back to her.
“What did you say?”
“I said,” she began. “I said if you were going to talk archeology the entire time, I should have brought Tuvok instead. And then I said that I don’t know why I ever fell in love…” She stopped, stunned at her words.
His grin changed her entire life. “I love you too, Kathryn,” he replied.
