Carburetor Enhancer (Basic)
This page tells about the simplest Carburetor Enhancer, which we call the 'Basic' version. It gets the most gains with the least cost and is the simplest fuel saver to install.
The Carburetor Enhancer is a simple external method to significantly increase the efficiency of automobile carburetors. Once installed and adjusted, its operation is automatic. Just drive normally.
This is the method the author/inventor uses on his personal automobile (1978 Lincoln Continental with 460 ci engine.) he went from 10-11 mpg to 13-15 mpg.
The Carburetor Enhancer Manual goes into much more detail on how to fix carburetors that are giving trouble and how to expand the capabilities of your Carburetor Enhancer.

OVER ORIGINAL FACTORY BUILD
The Carburetor Enhancer Method is a technique for custom-tuning a carburetor. Everything you need to know to increase the efficiency of your carburetor is included in the Carburetor Enhancer Manual .
(Vehicle manufacturers are well aware of this tuning technique, but included it in only select vehicles . . . like police vehicles.)
Tools required to install and adjust the basic Carburetor Enhancer:
• 3/8ths inch drill
• 1/8th inch drill bit
• 25/64th inch drill bit
• Hammer and center punch
• Fine toothed hacksaw or tubing cutter
• Small fine toothed round file; "chainsaw" file works.
• Knife
• 9/16 open end wrench
• 7/16 box end wrench
• Medium slotted head screwdriver
• Screwdrivers needed to adjust your carburetor
• Tachometer
• Vacuum/pressure gauge
• Colortune (optional)
Full Tune Up: For maximum efficiency of your carburetor and carburetor enhancer method, tune-up your engine and have your drive train checked out. Refer to the carburetor tips in the back of the Carburetor Enhancer Manual.
Test Carburetor: It is interesting that nearly all of these deficient carburetors owners believed their carbs "worked just fine". The Carburetor Enhancer Manual tells exactly how to test your carburetor and what to do to fix it.
USEFUL BITS OF INFORMATION:
Colortune: A favorite tool to test carburetors is called a "Colortune",. Colortunes make the job quick, easy and accurate. The Colortune will instantly show you the exact fuel ratio of your engine and currently costs less than $50 (instead of a $30,000 engine analyzer).
Colortune is a clear spark plug that allows you to see the color of the flame in your cylinder. A small change in the fuel mixture makes a large color difference. You can tell instantly what your adjustment has done. This saves a lot of time because you don't have the "wait time" required by most engine analyzers after each adjustment.
You can adjust your fuel system as simply as adjusting an oxy/act torch, just watch the color of the flame. Time is important to those people who want to install Carburetor Enhancers quickly and reliably. Colortune comes with a diagnostic color chart and instructions. It has a full range of adapters to fit any spark plug hole.
Instructions on where to buy colortunes are included in the book.
HERE'S JUST A FEW SAMPLES OF WHAT PEOPLE SAY AFTER BUYING THE BOOK...

- E.M. Perryville MO -
USEFUL BITS OF INFORMATION cont'd:
Adjust Carburetor: Set your carburetor functions to Original Equipment Manufacturer's (OEM) specifications before installing the Carburetor Enhancer.
The Carburetor Enhancer method is meant to increase the efficiency of carburetors that are functioning properly, it is not a 'bandaid' to fix problems.
TIP: As a rule of thumb, when I am adjusting a carburetor, I find the best results by keeping the throttle plates in as closed a position as possible (highest vacuum) and open up the idle mixture screws to get a smooth idle. You need a slightly richer mixture at idle.
Carburetors that have two float bowls need an entirely separate Carburetor Enhancer mounted on each float bowl. Adjust each float bowl separately.
If you do not get at least a 20% increase in mileage by following to steps outlined in the book, there is, most likely, something wrong with your carburetor. The Carburetor Enhancer Manual has a chapter on carburetor repair.
Marginal Flooding: Float bowl flooding is the most common cause of low mileage in automobiles. Float bowl flooding costs car drivers millions of dollars per year. I've seen float bowl flooding so bad that gasoline was pouring out the top of the vents. But the real problem lies in the marginal flooding conditions, because people never know they have a problem that needs fixing. If your float bowl fuel level rises one sixteenth of an inch above OEM specifications, you have float bowl flooding. The Carburetor Enhancer can not help a carburetor that has float bowl flooding until it is fixed.
Rebuilt: Just because you have just rebuilt a carburetor is no reason to believe you don't have float bowl flooding. Experience has shown me that rebuilds are just as likely to have problems as old carburetors. Example: I've seen new inlet needle valves that were in worse condition than the old ones they're replacing.
Test valve: The most often cause of float bowl flooding is a bad inlet needle valve. You can test your inlet needle valve by using a small air pump (bicycle pump) and a pressure gauge. Make sure that the float bowl has it's proper fuel level and then apply about 10 psi to the fuel line that leads into the float bowl. Watch your pressure gauge, if it loses more than 1 psi per minute, you have a leaky inlet needle valve.
Fix it: If you find that you have a leaky inlet needle valve, you can't expect your carburetor to give you the efficiency that it should. Do what you can to have the valve fixed.

Super Gas Saver Secrets
details many effective, but little known ways to increase combustion efficiency......Even run your existing engine on fuel made from plants . . . or from water and . . . aluminum cans!
The EFIE Manual was developed for fuel injected vehicles.
The EFIE is required on all carbureted vehicles that have an oxygen sensor. In most cases, these vehicles were made in the late '80s.
This EFIE device allows fuel savers (combustion enhancement devices) to work on fuel injected engines.
The HyCO 2DT Manual Is all about How-To build a simple device to install on turbo-charged diesel engines that saves you money! . . . Full details about a very simple and effective cold vapor technique.
HyCO 2DT's have been used on class 8 trucks for years now, with an average of 10% increase in power mileage. The extra power usually means a gear on the hills, making faster travel times.
The HyCO 2DT works great on passenger cars too. A customer had a Volkswagen Jetta increase it's higher speed (when using the turbo) mileage by 40%.
And that's not all folks!!!

USEFUL BITS OF INFORMATION cont'd:
COOLER:
You can test exhaust temperatures, simply stick a thermometer at the end of the tailpipe to determine this. If you do happen to test for pollution, you will note a shocking (and rewarding) drop.
Reward:
I definitely recommend installing an intake manifold vacuum gauge. Order from local auto supply store or JC Whitney & Co (1-800-529-4486). It is the intake vacuum that makes the Carburetor Enhancer work and the higher you can keep it, the greater your savings. If you have a gauge, you can alter your driving habits to allow this. Finally there is a method that really rewards those who drive correctly.
Regulator:
Most inlet needle valves seal better if the fuel pressure to them is reduced. I recommend a fuel pressure regulator.
A Note from the author and inventor, George Wiseman -
I've had many mechanics praise me on my Carburetor Enhancer Manuals, telling me that they learned more about carburetors in that one book than in all the training they'd ever had. I've had even more ordinary backyard mechanics tell me that they enjoyed how easy the manual is to understand, as well as enjoyable to read.
Most important:
over 60,000 people are actually using the Carburetor Enhancer Method. (Not bad for an invention that can't be patented, because it isn't a device. It's simply a method of custom tuning a carburetor.)"
I have, however, gone well beyond this effective but simple beginning. We have developed the Electronic Carburetor Enhancer, which doubles any gain you got from this basic version.
And THEN you can apply the HydroCarbon Oxygenator (HyCO for short); which is a cold vapor system that adds onto your existing fuel system. Like all my other inventions, I use the KISS principle (Keep It Seriously Simple).
So we have low cost, easy to build, can be applied over a period of time as the vehicle is being used, completely automatic operation, designed to work with your existing fuel system (Carbureted or Electronic Fuel Injection), much safer than "heated" vaporizers and best of all; usually gets AT LEAST a 50% gain in fuel mileage with an increase in power and performance.
The Carburetor Enhancer method is not recommended for:
• Any type of fuel injection, (no place to apply it)
• Computer controlled carburetors, (some of them already have it)
• Motorcraft 2700 variable venturi, (has no air bleeds)
• Side or Up draft carburetors (have no air bleeds)
• Carter BBD models, (requires modification to accelerator vent).
We recommend a three step process to applying our fuel savers to carbureted vehicles:
1) Apply the basic Carburetor Enhancer, this should cost about $15 in parts and will give about a 25% gain to most vehicles. Please do not continue with the other steps till your Carburetor Enhancer is working; if you are not getting a gain at this step you must repair your carburetor. This is an inexpensive first step that sets you up for big gains.
2) Apply the Electronic Carburetor Enhancer (optional, will cost about $120 in parts), this is an enhancement of the Basic Carburetor Enhancer; this will double the gains you got with the basic Carburetor Enhancer (so most people are now at 50% gain) and give your carburetor oxygen sensor feedback, just like fuel injection vehicles have.
3) Apply the HyCO 2A system (cost about $300 in parts), this is a cold vapor system that gives a 50% gain over all you've already accomplished (so most people have now doubled their mileage). The HyCO 2A requires the installation of the Carburetor Enhancer to work properly; preferably with the Electronic option.
Note:
Besides the HyCO 2A, there are many other combustion enhancement techniques that you can add, examples include: heating the fuel, water injection, treating the fuel by various means, fuel additives and much much more. We are giving you what we consider to be the most practical answers to fuel savers.
