Please take a little bit of time to think of the last time you were out of site
of man made lights during the night!
I have just purchased 8 acres of Natural Woodland in the foothills of
the Chilhowee Mountain Range near Seymour, Tennessee.
I have to tell you what it looks like and the kind of view since it is facing large cliffs
that are prominient in the area. The land faces southwest which is good in
that it doesn't get the direct Summer Sun, but does get the Sun in the Winter to help heat up the ground.
It is so quite there, all you can here is the wind rustling the leaves,
the lonesome call of a crow passing overhead,and some other little and likable critters that live in the woods.
(PEACE & TRANQUIITY)
We Finally saved up enough money to grade off a place to put our trailer on the "HOMESTEAD". We decided that to have as least of an impact on the surrounding enviroment and attempt to keep it as unaffected by our presence as possible.
We have added electricity to the area, gravel driveway, planted grass, and planted Wild Flowers, as well as some Domestic ones.
We have been through all the seasons now, with photos taken during all of them. The Winter was hard on the Trees by snow/ice breaking limbs and trunks; but as we all know "this is a natural occurance" with Nature taking it's course. Now we are dealing will an insect called the "Pine Beetle" which sucks the sap from the trees, killing them within a week! After they come through, it will be time to get the chainsaw out and take the dead ones down to decompose back to Nature's forest floor to bring forth new life in their stead.
So for now, we are done! It's time to sit around, feel the cool breezes, smell the wonderful forest scents, and enjoy the Peacefulness of the "HOMESTEAD" away from all worries of everyday life!
At night, the Heaven is full of Brilliant shining stars so close that you feel that you could reach up and pull one
from overhead. To be able to enjoy all these sights and revel in their beauty, a person has to acknowledge the
presence of a "Mighty Creator", no matter what religion the viewer happens to be.
This place I now have is only mine in the sense that I can use it while I am on this old world; I can't
take it with me, but I most certainly will enjoy it in the mean time! If you have the chance, find a remote
place or one of solitude, go to it and use it to look up at the mighty Heaven and contemplate you own being and usefullness
in this mean ole world. Nothing more needs to be said after you do this!
