The BDHLP decides to go with "what works"
|
CALIFORNIA -- The BDHLP has announced they have decided to change a few new rules back to the way it used to be. The most important rule change will be that we will not be having seperate minor league systems as originally planned. "Alot of gms were all for the seperate minor league systems including me, but the 2 month layoff along with some new gms, we feel we shouldnt make any more drastic changes and go back to what has worked for 4 years." Said Commish Scott Shafer.
With this change taking place, that means that "farm streaks" will once again be implemented. The farm streaks will be cut down more than last time, happening only 3 times per season. Farm streaks will occur days 1-5, days 51-55 and days 101-105. Commish Scott also added, "We feel that farm streaks are a vital part of the league and the development of young superstars, with the rosters the way they were it was impossible for a prospect to become a superstar, and this will make the weaker teams more competitive."
Along with this drastic change, other rules will change to correspond to this change. First will be that teams will have to be aware of the 50 man roster limit. Teams cannot make trades that will put them over the roster limit. Teams will also need to keep roster space open for draft picks they have in the next season. And the last of the rule changes is that teams will not be allowed to change players positions. The positions rule has been in place since the league began 5 years ago, it has always been the same and always will be. The only reason that we were gonna allow position changes was to better adapt to having to have 2 full rosters of players to have complete lines with some teams lacking at certain positions to make 2 full rosters. This rule has always been in place for 1 main reason and that is to make people think about what position to aquire in trades. If a team is short on a position they may have to get desperate to aquire that position they need and it will benefit the team that has balanced his positions. Teams should not get a chance to get the easy way out of just changing a players position to help cover up any trading mistakes he has made.
All in all the league is still scheduled to get under way as normal, we just wont be going through all the changes we had planned, and i guess why not when you are as successful as we have been over the years why change a good thing!! See you all sunday 12 noon Eastern for the Free Agent draft.
