Tease is a doe we had admired for years and now finally had the opportunity to add her to the herd this Fall. Tease's littermate brother The Full Monty also lives here at Poppy Patch Farm. Tease is still a beautiful doe and standing the test of time even as she turned six this Fall. She has taken a break from the show ring for awhile but we plan to get her back out there again to collect more ribbons in 06. Tease kidded January 25th and all we can say about her 6-year-old udder is WOW! Her udder has not changed a bit from as it was when she was only two.
Sadly Tease will not be showing again in 06 after a tragic battle the end of April with mastitis which led to a serious bacterial pneumonia infection, she has been dried off. We are just extremely happy her life and her udder were spared from this illness. Poor Tease is dry again now in 07 by no fault of her own. This time she came down with a very rare case of metritis 1 week before her due date and had to be delivered early by C-section. Problem was her doeling died after having gotten her cord twisted around her neck. Fortunately we did get a healthy baby boy who will be retained. This girl's misfortunes continued in 08 with a ruptured uterus at kidding due to the way scar tissue healed from her c- section the year before. Again very rare condition. We lost her single buckling this year. Her uterus was removed due to the rupture and she is now officially happy and retired. We will love her and spoil her rotten for the rest of her life. Sadly she was never able to be shown even once the entire time we have had her due to her many problems. If she were shown I would bet she would have been a MCH/CH easily. We will treasure her relatives still in use in our herd breeding program.

Sire- Ponders End The Full Monty
(SS-Twin Creeks BH Bravado*S/SD-Twin Creeks Tres Colores)

Dam- Esperanza ZZ Charity
(DS-Ponders End ZZ Top/DD-Esperanza Evening Primrose)

Kate is a adorable sweet girl. Charity's kids are normally friendly but Kate more like glued to your leg pesty friendly. It is very difficult to get a photo of her without anyone holding her back because she always gets too close. She is a very nice looking little doe so far. She is a bit shorter-bodied compared to her sister Matilda. Kate freshened with buck/doe twins from Rebel. Her first-freshening udder is very nice but if we could change it we would like to see a bit more extension to the fore. Sold(DM) Kate is the dam of Poppy Patch RC High Fashion

Bella is a really striking doe with the most striking china blue eyes we have ever seen. They stand out more than usual because she has black eyelids all the way around each eye on a white face. Bella has grown up to be a long dairy type doe with a beautiful udder although not quite as well extended and smooth in the fore as her dam's she is still a very nice doe. For sale bred to Playboy. Sold thanks Melissa! Bella is the dam of Poppy Patch Rhapsody In Blue.

We just couldn't resist keeping Bow Tie especially since he and his brother Tux are now Black Tie Affair's final kids ever. He has his daddy's trademark china blue eyes and conformation. Plus his dam is Twin Creek's WB Embraceable! He has a very striking chocolate pinto coloring. Bowtie has now gone to live with the ladies at The Big W Ranch in Wenatchee. He is the sire of Bella Blue and grandsire of Rhapsody In Blue.

Felicity rejoined our herd this August after having been away two years. Thank you Carol for helping track her down and Sherry for allowing her to come back to live with us again! Felicity is our Betty Boop's dam and Charity's first daughter from when we purchased her as a bred doe. She has the same wonderful friendly personality of her dam and her daughter. This photo is a dry kid photo but the only one we have of her clipped. Felicity kidded with 1 buck and two does sired by Ponders End The Full Monty- the same breeding that produced Betty Boop. Sold. Thanks Carol!

Shirley is the cutest sweetest little blue-eyed girl! I fell in love with her the moment she was born. Shirley is very long, deep, and sharp, not to mention the fantastic mammary genetics behind her. Sold bred to Rebel Shirley's 07 daughter Lil Miss Broadway remains in our herd.

Picasso was the little runt of Emmy's 4 kids so we hardly took notice of him at first. This guy just keeps looking more and more amazing every day. Picasso has so much dairy character and length of body coming from his sire and what should be fantastic mammary genetics from his dam. We just love the possiblities this guy has as a herd sire. Sorry he is unclipped in this photo, we have not been showing bucks anymore so have not been clipping them.

Ballerina was our very first Nigerian Dwarf doe so she has always been very special. In general appearance she shows excellent, angularity, length of body, width, depth, levelness over the topline, and smoothness of blending. Her mammary system is very well attached all round with an attractive globular shape, a wide rear and well extended fore, as well as ideal teat placement although her teats could be larger for milking. We recently added Ballerina's beautiful momma Striptease to our doe herd. Ballerina's 2006 daughter Daisy Mae also remains in our herd.

Emmy comes from an excellent genetic background. She is a very correct little doe showing outstanding general appearance, levelness, width, and depth throughout. Emmy walks with exceptional width between the hocks, and a wide, open, rounded escutcheon. Her udder is globular shaped with solid attachments all round, an excellent MSL and perfect teat placement. Emmy is the dam of two of our herdsires- Poppy Patch SF Picasso and Poppy Patch BT Bowtie Optional.

Dazzle is an extremely strong, powerful doe, showing lots of width and depth throughout. She has a nicely attached mammary with a good medial support and a very smooth foreudder, although she could have more correct teat placement and a little more height into the rear udder she is a very nice doe overall with wonderful breeding potential. Dazzle's 2005 daughter Razzle Dazzle remains here in our herd. Dazzle was sold bred to Picasso. Thanks Tricia!

Sire- Woodhaven Farms Lonesome Blues

Dam- MCH It'l Do's Apachey 'E'
(DS-Goodwood LoganberryDD-/It'l Do's Patsie Cline)

Tie is a combination of power, strength, style and correctness throughout, plus outstanding genetics, flashy color and blue eyes! He shows ideal length, width, depth, angularity and levelness over the topline. He has an exceptional front-end assembly with the most upstanding stature and tight, sharp, smoothly blended withers. As a seven-year-old Tie's feet and legs are still in perfect condition. He is an extremely masculine buck with more wrinkles than a Shar Pei, yet he is quiet, and gentle, with an easy going temperament. Tie's Dam Apachey has gone Grand Champion 5x, Best Udder 5x and 1x Champion Challenge winner. Unfortunately Tie has not managed to settle any does for the past couple years so it looks like he has gone into retirement. We realize this can happen with bucks his age. He will remain on the farm and just be our stinky pet from now on. He still thinks he is hot stuff. Tie has left his mark with some wonderful kids both here and in other herds. We have his two daughters Thumbelina and Shirley Temple and two sons Devil In Disguise and Bow Tie Optional here to carry on his genetics.

Sire- Twin Creeks Rebel W/O A Cause*S

Dam- Esperanza ZZ Charity
(DS-Ponders End ZZ Top/DD-Esperanza Evening Primrose)

Scamp is not a flashy type of guy as far as coloring which dosen't bother us a bit. What he does have is wonderful conformation, solid genetics and that sweet friendly personality so common with Charity's kids. He has never been shown so not clipped for this photo. His litter sister is Poppy Patch RC Poppy Seed. It breaks my heart to say this sweet boy left us way too soon. We lost Scamp to urinary callculi at the age of only two. As it turns out his only daughters ever are our beloved Poppy Patch SC Sweet Baaaby and Poppy Patch SC Pollyanna. Scampie will be missed but never forgotten.
