HOTELS ON SYMI
On Symi there are not that many hotels (partly because of lack of water). The island is quite exclusive and not for the low budget traveller. In high season it will be a crime to find a bed to sleep in. Most of the hotels are situated in the harbour Gialos and a few more can be found in Chora.
I have no experience with hotels in Symi but below are a few of the options. If you have tips or you have stayed at a place on Symi and have pleasant memmories than please email me so I can put it on the website.
Nireus Hotel - Gialos / Symi.
In Gialos there is the Nireus Hotel. It is right at the waterfront at a 250 meter distance from the town. The rooms are at the first and second floor of the building (on top of their restaurant). The ones in the front have a seaview and most of these have private wrought iron balconies looking over the island of Nimos and the Turkish mainland. The rooms at the back are cheaper and have a view over the town.
In front of the hotel there is a terrace where you can get drinks and food, and there are also sunbeds at the sea where you can relax.

Niriides Apartments - Emborios / Symi.
The Niriidis Apartments consists of 4 buildings that are built amphitheatrically on a slope overlooking the sea all the way across the Turkish coastline. There are 10 apartments in total, each one large enough to accommodate 4 people. They all have a livingroom / kitchen and a bedroom, and 7 of them have a balcony, 3 of them a yard, all with a view of the sea. The hotel offers breakfast facilities. The closest beach is at a 70 meters distance, right beneath the hotel.
At a 250m distance is Nimborios beach where you will also find a tavern, while the distance from Symi's port and maintown is only 2,5 km.

Margaritha's Studios and Apartments / Nos Beach Symi.
Margaritha's is a small complex with two studios and two apartments (for 4 people) situated at the small Nos Beach at the edge of Gialos harbour. It is a non smoking residence (you can off course smoke outside on the veranda's). There are no buildings next to it. A three minutes walk takes you to the first taverna and after a five minute walk you are in the center of Gialos. All studios and apartments have a large outside sitting area with a view of the sea and there is also a garden. Prices are pretty reasonable.
You can walk along the coastline to Emborios Beach and bump into small secluded beaches and coves on the way.
