Mood: not sure
Now Playing: "Workin' in the Coal Mine," by Lee Dorsey
Topic: Healing Process
Healing can begin with so many things. It can begin at any moment. It can begin with an herb, with a smile, with a prayer, with a mineral bath. It can begin with something as simple as deciding to do something nice for yourself or for somebody else. It can begin with cleaning the basement out, which is what I'm working on doing today. Healing can begin anew every day!
It's gross in my basement. It stinks. That can't be healthy, I'm sure. It has mold and bacteria all over the place.
Besides all of that, it has junk that I have held onto that's no longer useful. To continue holding on to that is symbolic of holding onto the past or to not having faith that I'll have what I need in the future. You know, the "I might need that someday" kind of thing. I have to trust that I'll always have what I need, so there's no need to hang onto things that aren't any good! That's a much healthier outlook to have, don't you think?
So, today I'm working on cleaning my basement out, and giving thanks that I always have what I need. I'm also giving thanks for natural cleaners to use! I'm taking down a bucket of hydrogen peroxide and vinegar water along with some essential oils. And I'm coming back up with a whole bunch of junk to go in the trash!
While I am down there, I'm going to think about what kinds of old types of thinking I'm still holding onto. Are there opinions and attitudes which no longer serve me and are rotting away in my mind? Those can make a person even sicker than bacteria and mold, so it's good to take inventory every once in awhile!
