Epilepsy affects my daughter and me in very similar ways. Thanks to recent and not-so-recent advances in medicine, we are able to treat our seizure disorders in very different ways. Sometimes it's necessary to go out and do your own research on options as doctors are (all too often) unable to provide any options beyond anticonvulsant drug therapy or brain surgery. Neither was an option for either of us. My daughter Kaitlynn uses the Ketogenic Diet and I use Vagus Nerve Stimulation (VNS). These are our stories.
