"The Dark Side of Double H"

Black.

I love Black - everything about it.  I love it.

My 1994 Cadillac Eldorado (non ETC) was purchased used, from an old man when it was 3 years old and had 16,000 miles on it.  It was Black with a grey interior.   I changed the grill and the license plate surround to Black, like the ETC.  Pinstripes and logos were removed, except the Wreath and Crest on the grill.  Windows were tinted dark and the wheels were off a 98 Seville, and polished (all the way through) to a chrome lustre.  Ed Wright Automotive made a custom chip for it (www.fastchip.com) that pushed the non-ETC to run a 14.9 in the 1/4 mile.  I really enjoyed the car, but being a sports car guy it was only a matter of time before I got back into Corvettes and Vipers.

Later, a baby forced the non-sports coupe issue again, so back to Cadillac. My 2000 Cadillac STS - "The Prince of Darkness" - was purchased new and custom ordered, in Black/Black with ZR-rated tires, factory sunroof, wood package and console CD player.  Through a connection at Hamtramck I was able to get this car audited.  Performance enhancements include a K & N air filter, removal of the screen from inside the MAF sensor, and the use of synthetic oil.  DRL's are turned off.  Headlight bulbs are upgraded. Inside I have hard-wired a Valentine One radar detector, and re-covered the visors to block those gaudy "air bag safety" messages.  Exterior changes include custom grill, removal of all logos, black-out of CHMSL, painted exhaust tips, painted rims, dark tinted windows, painted taillightsurround, and about 1400 coats of Zaino.  The Prince of Darkness went 150 mph the other night before I ran out of space, so perhaps a little more is on tap.  My proudest achievement with it, is that it has raced and beat a friend's new Lexus GS400 on 3 separate occasions; one time it beat the Jap car pretty badly.  I told him, "Next time - BUY AMERICAN."

Fatherhood has softened me a bit.  But I'll always be in the Blackness.
