Bright Angel
Chapter 13

Hillary: After our quick clean up and rampage in Melissa’s closet for a change of clean clothes, we gave the room a last glance. “Well, I think our jobs done here,” I turned to Melissa who stood staring at the Hanson poster on her wall. “We gotta do something about that,” she said pointing to the poster on the only red wall in the extremely colorful space she had made for herself. “ As much as I love that poster, its gotta go, at least for now. I can’t have them thinking I’m obsessed or anything,” she explained her concern. “Point taken.” “If I take it down though, I have to put something in its place. I can’t stand too much blank space.” “Ok, then, how about the angel sketch, that is if you have a frame for it.” “I actually think I do,” she said leaving the room and heading into another room to go through another maze of boxes stacked on top of each other in a closet. “Here,” she said finally extracting a gold wooden frame with intracet detailing craved into all sides. “Perfect,” now lets hang that bitch before they come down the driveway and grace us with their presence.” “Good idea,” she said, and we were off to frame Melissa’s picture of the angel. After it was finally hung, we surveyed the room again and, finding it fairly tolerable, made our way downstairs. There we wasted our time watching old Real World rerun until we stopped the two headlights of a car creep down the driveway as the Grandfather clock struck 8. Giving Melissa a quick and big smile, we both took a deep breath and as the doorbell rang, we sprang from our seats and ran to let our company in. “Hey,” we all seemed to say at the same time. “Did you find it ok,” Melissa asked Taylor, giving him a hug. “Yea, and we didn’t even miss the driveway on the first try.” She smiled and took hold of his hand. I grinned at Zac and gave him a hug, in turn he took hold of my hand as all four of us stepped inside the door and it was shut behind us. “Nice place,” Zac commented. “Thanks,” Melissa replied. “So…,” I tried to break the silence. “Want a tour?,” I asked. “Sure,” Taylor laughed as he smiled down at Melissa and I could tell she was already falling for the blue eyes and everything else Taylor was.
