The Lobos' Teresa Higgins opened the scoring with a 23-yard touchdown run.
In the first quarter, Charlotte Humphrey of the Shamrocks ran the ball 51 yards for her team's only score.
Angie Carmichael scored twice on runs of 17 yards and 12 yards.
Early in the fourth quarter, the Lobos' Judy Sanders intercepted a Shellie Calloway pass and returned the ball 33 yards to the Shamrocks' 3-yard line. The Lobos' two fourth quarter scores were a 3-yard run by Sandy Malhiot and an 8-yard run by Mary Lou Romero.

This game was no contest as the Lobos won 58-0. The Lobos picked up 25 first downs versus only 3 by the Roses. Also, the Lobos outplayed the Roses in rushing yardage (329 to 24), passing yardage (88 to 16) and total yardage (417 to 40). Lobos' starting QB Sandy Malhiot completed 3 of her 8 passes for 41 yards while Pasadena's Naomi Malauulu completed 3 of her 11 passes for 16 yards. and the scoring went as follows:

The Lobos' Sandy Kaufold rushed for 125 yards and scored three touchdowns, including one on a 38-yard run. Other San Diego scores came on a Dorene Gutzmer 15-yard run, an Angie Carmichael 11-yard run, and a Sandy Malhiot 3-yard quarterback sneak. The Lobos defeated the Roses 38-0.
Because of financial problems, the San Diego Lobos' players agreed to play without pay this season. All four of the Lobos' games this season were versus the Los Angeles Dandelions. Some of the games, such as the Sept. 26 game versus the Dandelions at Mesa College, were benefits for such things as college funds.
The San Diego Lobos folded.
