HAGLEY PARK

Located in central Christchurch, Hagley Park covers an area of approx. 160 hectares with many well-formed 'shared' pathways and cycleways.
We begin our skate at the Armagh street bridge and generally make a large circuit of the park, however the exact route is decided on the afternoon. We usually stop a couple of times along the way for the chance to socialise and help each other out with skating technique etc.
The 'Antigua boatshed' ice cream shop is always a popular stop along the way.

The Christchurch City Council has recently undertaken a pavement upgrade in the park. The gravel track on the southern side of Riccarton Ave and also the track alongside Harper Ave between Park Terrace and Fendalton Road have both been sealed during 2001.  Both these paths are fairly wide with low traffic, making for smooth fast skating.
